The Oasis drummer I don't think they did much research. I think that's when the passenger train started but the famous engine was built much later, so you are correct

The problem is the engine is represented as it was in 1923 to the GNR loading gauge. Tall cab,tall dome,tall safety valves, and tall chimney, the tender looks like a non streamlined 1928 corridor tender, the two would have never gone together as far as I know.

That is a gorgeous shade of green! I'm not suggesting that the real Scotsman be painted this colour but if I was an animator I would definitely use it on the models of him.(it'd make him stand out from Henry Percy and any other green engine too!)

Marco53 the flying scotsman was a daily service between London and Edinburgh. That continued to be hauled by diesels...the locomotive was named after the train...

Incredible model, but the fellow presenting it is a bit short of the propper technical names. Like Tender, not "coal car". Guard, Driver and Fireman or Train Crew instead of "conductors". Other wise its amazing.

Agh the front black part of the boiler is called the smokebox the part at the end of the boiler is called the firebox the “coal car” is the TENDER and he didn’t even mention the nice corridor detail and as a rail enthusiast it is painful for me to listen to someone kinda incorrectly explaining steam locomotives. That LEGO model is amazing though.

No the Flying Scotsman only had 2 tenders in the late 60s through the late 70s and the reason it had to tenders then was because they’re were not anymore water towers in England or America

The A3 locomotive didn’t have a corridor tender. Only the A4’s had that.

Flying Scotsman gained the corridor tender and the auxiliary water tender when he was preserved, and because British railways started taking down the coaling plants and water towers during the 1950's to 1970's, when steam locomotives were being phased out in favor of more modern diesels, and were being cut up for scrap.

The people that drive a locomotive are called engineers not conductors and it’s not called a coal car it’s called a tender also the Flying Scotsman is not a train it’s a locomotive a train is a unit of rolling stock pulled by a locomotive a locomotive is a powered rail vehicle

Did you know flying Scotsman had two tenders because they were doing a non-stop run from London to Edinburgh but then during her run they just found out flying Scotsman and 100 miles an hour without stopping

It's not like he said "I think that diaphragms are more useful than chains" or something, which yes, some trains had just chains between the cars instead of a diaphragm in the early days. Still, at least you acknowledged that the information is indeed useful.

Very nice, but those cylinders were A3 cylinders. Flying Scotsman became an A3 in 1947, and was an original Gresley A1.
