Purest builds like this always have that outstanding unique quality. You can tell the designer is very intelligent to have constructed something so lifelike and fully functional. This crane represents EXACTLY the high quality that you see LEGO themselves creating in real sets. To the man who freehand built this massive crane: You deserve so much respect within the Lego building community and should be proud of the vision that you succeeded in bringing into the material world. That's what an artist does!

@diatomsaus
@diatomsaus 5 жыл бұрын
It's so realistic and even modular like a real crane, this is insane.
@ScaledChannel
@ScaledChannel 5 жыл бұрын
The modular build was one of the main building targets, so that I can do maintenance and improvements over time on the components. I had to pull out the winches a couple of times. Even the superstructure is built in modules. It's harder to take apart, but can be done if the slewing system requires maintenance/repair. I can't imagine what a p.i.t.a. it would be to have a gear snap and not be able to reach it inside.
@diatomsaus
@diatomsaus 5 жыл бұрын
@@ScaledChannel I see, for something that massive, it's pretty likely that some component will inevitably fail! We probably all know the pains of disassembling something due to small errors... like putting in the wrong axle or putting something on backwards.
@ScaledChannel

Not too much actually. It is "only" 25.000 pieces. And from what I can tell, mostly cheap piece types. So my guess is, without all the custom electronics, custom parts (like metal axles etc.) this would be in the 3.000€ range. If this became a real set, with prestige bonus, logistical problems etc. maybe 5.000€ off the shelf ;)
