I’ve been having success lately scalping 0DTE debit spreads. I was able to get a 14x going into the close today and ALWAYS use limit orders.

Interesting. Can you explain what you did? I'm a big fan of short expiration times for some reason. I've done relatively well with it but it is supposed to be a more high risk strategy. But I have never done a debit spread of any length of time, and I'd like to learn about it if you would like to share.

Yes indeed a "market order" upon option entry is virtually donating all your potential profits upfront.... it hurts 😬 but I'm fine.😢

Market orders for complex options orders are asking to get raked over the coals.

Yes and it can get ugly when you are exiting a trade going against you quickly. You try to do a limit order to exit and it keeps gaping down or up!. Yuck!!

WoW. I made that mistake on a simple put debit spread. It stung, and I was like, hey its only an extra $40. But the trade didn/t move as far as I predicted. I managed it for $2 loss (contract fees). But, that would have a gain v breakeven-ish. That's when the sting started to feel like a burn.

I made this error on my first options trade, wet it up on a the Sunday night in anticipation of a morning fill. I was filled, but only after my stock gapped down serveral percent, tanking the whole trade, a jarring loss in the first 5 minutes of the day. 😔

I made this mistake on my second ever trade. I always make sure it says limit order before submitting

Is there ever a time that a Market Order serves as a benefit? BTW, I created a new options strategy called "Dip the cow in Hot Sauce". For the last three months, it's made me millio......ok, maybe that's a different hobby of mine.🐄😋
