So true. Actual authentic people can handle disagreements with friends respectably and don't need endless validation for every single step they take. Hasan has proven time and time again to be completely unable to treat his friends with respect and in turn accept their differences. I mean just look at what happened with Leftovers. The reason Ludwig is a coward is because he 100% is aware of the fact that Hasan is toxic, but for whatever reason whether it be connections or clout refuses to act authentically, bending over backwards to appease this toxic asshole. That "net neutrality" isn't what you think it was, though you're not alone as most people were overly optimistic in their assumptions. It did a lot of other things relating to how content is treated but in terms of pricing, it didn't do much of anything except largely preventing throttling and it prevented paid prioritization. Neither would have prevented charging more for more or faster bandwidth as throttling and prioritization are different aspects.

As someone living in South Korea, I cared a heck of a lot more about the twitch shutdown than the dumb Hasan drama. Thanks for talking about it bc it really sucks that the western community seems to not care at all, especially in our globalised world. If you’re a League content creator for example, this is probably gonna hit you harder than you realise… Edit: since people seem to be misunderstanding me, my point is that for an online community that seems to open up conversation any time Twitch or Kick or KZfaq make any kind of minuscule change, a total shutdown in a country that makes up a large portion of its user base probably should garner more attention. And it’s not twitch’s fault. They made the correct choice. South Korea has about a million problems far more serious (“Hell Joseon” after all) but this is a topic that’s interesting and important as the scope of online entertainment continues to grow. Just because it doesn’t affect you now, doesn’t mean it can’t one day.

Lud, you are obviously a very smart person. Defending Hasan is not a smart move. Even if he has grounds to stand on in this situation (I personally take issue with what he said even given the extra context, but that's not the main point), he has constantly proven himself to be an unkind, not knowledgeable person who treats people with wildly varying levels of decency and respect based on how they look instead of the content of their character. The amount of "drama" he has been a part of should clue everyone in to the type of person he is. Even if you believe 90% of his "drama" is overblown or some plot by his haters, that means that there are still instances of truly wrong things he has done or said. Of course people should be offered the chance to change and prove themselves better than they were before. Hasan has not grown. Publicly linking yourself with Hasan and having him partake in entertainment you provide gives this poor-charactered person a spotlight to spread their negativity, as well as worsening your image and creating divide in your community

The evidence he showed was a dm from a throwaway twitter account that was made BEFORE the hasan reaction (the dm was on the 25th, hasans reaction was the 26th, even when you convert the timezones the dm came before). Not to mention that dm had zero association with anything at all apart for following ludwig, to use that as an example was shady af. If so, I agree that it’s unfair to look at things in clips that are cut badly to show something out of context for both Hasan and Destiny. I think opinions about what people say should be made after seeing the full context of everything. However, if that’s the case then we should consider why Destiny has been banned for saying things like “BLM protesters should be mowed down” and why Hasan hasn’t been banned for things like that. Destiny has said many things within context towards the genocide in Palestine and made fun of Aaron Bushnell’s death just hours ago. While I don’t love Hasan, I just don’t see him saying anything close to the level that Destiny has, in or out of context.

The problem is that Hasan didn't say "my job is draining" he said "my job is more draining than any other job", by that simple lack of empathy he immediately opened the door for people to take empathy out of the conversation when correcting him, and then Hasan got butthurt about it, so I think it's not that people don't understand what he meant, it's that they don't agree with him and treated him with the same lack of respect and consideration he treats the people that keep his business running.
