Dream Team! Good show. I have far more concerns than most seem to about Hutson. I think he's going to get battered about a fair bit. Struble is a big boy and look how much the schedule got to him in the last 3rd of the season, yet people are expecting so much from Lane and that he won't see Laval. How many times have they told us the NHL isn't a development league? I don't think 82 games in the NHL is the right development path for Hutson. It's going to require a really disciplined D pairing to cover for Lane when he pushes forward or a very fast one! I hope I'm wrong but I fear injuries next year if we heap too much on such a small body.

Man, do you know hockey?? Have you seen this future Calder contender play? The kid's a stud and there's nothing the AHL would bring to him except a big m*ron trying to rip his head off for a chance to play as a goon in an NHL's 4th line. He's NHL ready and the only reason he wasn't called up earlier is because he needed to bulk up. Have you seen Suzuki being hurt many times? It's the same for Hutson, these dudes have eyes all around their head, they're just way too smart to make themselves a target. Hutson's gonna end up on the 1st PP and he's gonna be a game changer for the habs, next season.

Good stuff Boys! I'm hoping the some of the young guys can be nhl players in the future, we need one or two more goal scorers in our lineup, either via trade or draft, or maybe both but we need scoring help, a young, proven free agent would be cool in, a perfect scenario too. We'll let see what Gorton & Hughes have up their collective sleeves!

Season positives...the progression in Slaf's offensive game (but I do like Hughes trying to protect him by saying he still expects Slaf to have difficult moments), I liked seeing Caufield trying to add more to his game (be it physical, back checking, playmaker) however he is paid to score goals so he will need to focus on learning to find different ways to score esp 5on5...Captain Suzuki had a really good season but listening to Hughes in his presser, I wonder if being Captain of the Habs is something he will continue to mature into or will it begin taking a toll on him. Btw, I agree with DD, I don't think the Suzuki-Caufield-Slaf line will remain intact (5on5)...but with injuries, it's a line MSL will be comfortable reuniting when required (esp on PP). Matheson had a career season offensively...he is a decent defender but not a guy I would put out there to protect a lead. The emergence of Mailloux and esp Hutson will determine how much longer Matheson remains a Hab IMO. Re: Hutson, I must respectfully disagree with Producer Shane...I feel Lane needs to start in Laval not Mtl. Hutson may be offensively gifted with a high ceiling, but at 5'9" and listed as 158lbs...he is NOT physically ready to get punished by NHL forwards (even tho he did a decent job in Mtl in 2gms). Let him continue to work the weights and gain some muscle in Laval playing with his new buddy Reinbacher and have Deputy Xhekaj there to protect him in Laval. Anything can happen in the off season, but what I expect to see happen are exactly what Hughes stated were his needs checklist...add scoring to Top 6, add bigger and more physical players, and improve special teams ie PK. Do I expect another Dach, Newhook kind of trade...I don't think so! I feel this team is need of a different kind of return on a trade/UFA signing...someone more "established" to help this young group reach a new level. And hopefully having a healthy full season of Dach will give this team a much needed offensive 2nd line to help Suzuki. I feel Hughes&Gorton will "tinker" with new additions...but baring a shock out of nowhere blockbuster trade OR winning the draft lottery which will definitely change the Habs' plans. I feel the REAL PUSH for playoffs and making a deep run will be the '25-'26 season. Not saying they will go all in...but they will make significant moves to improve this team. We shall see! Go Habs Go!

Hutson would be losing his time playing in the AHL, this league is rougher and there's a lack of cerebral player there. He will be in the NHL next year until the rest of his career, way too smart not to and he might win the Calder. Also he was 5"10 170 lbs at the begining of the year and might end up 5"11 because of delayed growth from an health condition.

I liked Hudson’s game a pile, on transition and in the Ozone it’s a no brainer. On the cycle I think he could use some time in the AHL, looked like some of the strategies he was using in the dzone to try and break up plays won’t translate , but I do think he’ll figure it out if given some reps in the pro game. This season I think he would have gotten the leash he needs to figure that out in the NHL, next season I think expectations will be higher and the margin for error much lower, so the AHL could be a better option. Along with that, the massive log jam on LD makes him the easy option to start in Laval while they figure things out. Id put my money on Mailloux starting the season with the habs! I’m sure this sounds like a knock on Hudson, and I don’t mean it that way, I think he is the real deal, and these two games cemented that, it’s just that there is no rush! Great show guys!

Your talking about a lot of things that happened when the Habs were rebuilding, i know they are still definitely rebuilding, but they say they want to start to compete next year, so if that's the case, Hutson and Mailloux might not get as much leeway as u might think. You have to remember Habs have like 14 D, that are either already in the NHL, or have played in the NHL, and are all quality D and are going to be fighting for that spot, (oh 2 of the D i thought about havent played in NHL yet, Engstrom and reinbacher), but those r just what ive thought of, there may be more. Just sayin, that's a lot of guys fighting for 6 spots, and id like to think Xhekaj, Savard, Matheson, and Guhle are already in, i hope. That leaves 2 spots for 12-14 guys. Plus we will trade a few away at the draft id guess. Mailloux and Hutson looked great tho! Stoked to see them both in Montreal.

If he was able to find his game and it helps translate to next season and he can keep being productive, we’ll take it. Not much you can do with Bergevin’s contract at this point. Not their choice. It’s also very hard to trade at this point. Gally proved he still has value.
