Amy Winehouse use to LIVE in ballet flats .. maybe you could wear them with some cute jean shorts like she did and jean shorts are perfect for summer. I think a white jeans short might go with your denim ballet flats and a tank top and maybe a light blue vest with frills or something. Personally I always wear flats and they look good with skinny jeans too, though I usually only wear black flats.
