So do i even if i was born in 2011 Even if im only 12 years old, i still got some of the old merch a few years back i got them from my cousin when he was 3, one of them to mention is i have an old pullback thomas thats still in good condition, i remember buying old tomy stuff those days... Oh yeah btw i grew up with tomy and trackmaster

@AngelThankyou The effort may not have been in the writing at the time of the Miller era, but it was certainly in the merchandise. Lines like Wooden Railway, Take-Along, and Trackmaster were ones children couldn't get enough of even though they were everywhere. It was for this reason that HiT Entertainment put Barney the Dinosaur on hiatus to focus more on their really useful engine, which I think was a wise decision, since Thomas has stories made with entire audiences in mind, whereas Barney was only made to appeal to little children. It's sad that Thomas' merchandise has decreased in both quality and quantity, the All Engines Go! spin-off is a disgrace to the legacy that the Rev. W. Awdry spent decades building up, and Mattel is bringing Barney back from extinction while simultaneously sending Thomas to the scrapyard.

As someone who's played with both lines, I personally have always preferred the Take-Along line to the ERTL line for a number of reasons; the engines and rolling stock were more durable and better proportioned, the tender engines had detachable tenders, and the smart magnets allowed engines and rolling stock to connect either way.

Take Along clears any range and that's supremely high praise from someone who grew up with HiT toys trackmaster. I only started collecting the diecast ranges in about 2017? It might now rival my tomy/trackmaster collection lol. Got a TECS Rusty and SCRuffey recently and a Nakayoshi Duke to round out my NG engines. Very nice video!, Very entertaining!

Dude im worse, i wanted to collect trackmaster in 2015 but all i find in stotes were just two unknown ranges, collectible and mototized railway, but then in early 2020, the revolutiobns started appearing in stores, i only bought flynn for a chance tho, so now i am like a very late collector that started collecting the motorized stuff in 2021 Good thing these still appear online

I used to have the take n play Thomas The Tank Engine toys when I was a little and I love them and I'm a fan of Thomas the tank engine better than the reboot because I don't like the reboot I like the original one better the Thomas In 1984. 🙂

@@SpenceysCollectibles824 mean i also seem to see a lot at ebay, i didnt buy them since i dont wanna risk shipping again, an incident abt this (i was going to order something imported from japan, but the 30 day long wait ended up not being worth it since the cargo got cancelled for no reason) happened to me bc i live in the continent of asia, considering that most ebay sellers are in north american countries or somewhere else that are not in asian countries

And hold up, you started collecting this year? As a child who *could* have been born in the 2000s (my big sis is born in 2006, if i _won the sperm race_, i could have experienced these, but my cousin also likes thomas stuff and did experience this), i started collecting this year as well Well, i started at 2012 actually, i the ones i had in 2012-2015 are mostly gone and "destroyed"

im sry to say it but it hurts my soul watching the way you unbox these vintage packages.. i would of opened them as carefully as poss seeing as they're as old as they are plus most of them were in pretty good nick but all the same these were the good old days of T&F merch
