Join us for a HUGE Universal Studios Great Britain news update! Universal Destinations & Experiences have now revealed their site master plan for the proposed theme park and resort in Bedford, United Kingdom. Back in December Universal confirmed that they had purchased 480 acres of land for a potential theme park and resort and this week more details have emerged about their plans on the official website. The uk really needs this. The standard of current theme parks in the uk is really underwhelming compared to what universal and disney have created over the years. Very exciting times! I also saw a clip yesterday of fences going up and construction equipment being unloaded at the site.

I'm excited for this. But I can't deny, I just can't imagine the UK getting a park at the level of Universal. The best we have are all Merlin based venues with virtually no theming at the level Universal provides. If this goes ahead I see it possibly knocking down one of the big 3. Merlin should be extremely scared.

Absolutely. In the South-West there is nothing of note other than naff local ones. Having been to European and US theme parks it pales in comparison. Alton Towers have finally upped their game lately but 5-6 years will fly by.

Would be silly for this not to go through, on the point about merlin, why would I drive 1hr 30 to Alton towers when its 1hr 52 to universal, I went to Orlando resort just under 12 months ago, I'd go back tomorrow, can't say the same for other parks in the uk

It's absolutely incredible to think that a Universal park of that calibre could be a 2 hour drive away. I'm bursting with excitement with every update. Orlando is amazing but an incredibly expensive holiday a long way away.

Omg yes, more news of Universal Studios in the UK?!😍🤩 I really do hope all plans go ahead and Universal get the green light to build a theme park here in the UK. It brings so much potential for the park to be so successful since as you mentioned, a large majority of visitors are from Europe as well as its possible (and hopefully permanent) location, so i can hopefully see it going to plan Thanks you for making my day again, sorry for the long comment, keep up with the amazing work, thanks you, you guys are amazing👍 (Edit-typo)

It’s a good location you can see how they could expand with the potential to purchase more land in the future. It will be interesting to see how the local tourism market grows with hotels, attractions and experiences etc.

👋incredibly well produced report , i am in Bletchley you can currently get a £1 train ticket from Bletchley to Bedford and see it close up , i reported from it in the dark on the evening it was announced certainly want to be one of the 8,000 cast members it was a dream from the first time i stepped into a park in Orlando some 28 years ago , its huge for the UK and could give us all something special to be proud of .

I would travel from my home here Florida to visit your park with my family. I believe there is a lot of pent up demand from us American theme park fans to visit a UK park that is easier to get to than the more remote ones.
