New shed is exciting! I think you should consider not have a scrape passage and a feed passage. It is wasted space if that makes sense. Look up some yards which feed from the scrape passage

What I’ve said in short sounds complicated.. But you can have feed troughs on the inside on the passage way. Shut cattle onto beds, scrape passage and drive through that same passage with feeder wagon load troughs just a small narrow area then let cattle back out. Very easy 1 person job. Get both jobs done. You can then have all the undercover space used up by the cattle. Rather than a lot of feed passage space which is only used to drive through once or twice a day

Try Polly Tunnel companies. Such as Northern Polytunnles part of LBS Horticulture. McGregors Polytunnles . Your Hen house is basically a Polytunnle. The covers of Mushroom Polytunnles are very similar as are the covered areas in Garden Centres . Good luck.

If you get the right fabric, put the bolt through the strap and the tarp with a bigger washer. The strap is less likely to move with the pulling action of the tarp. I think you may want it on both sides? Love the calves and those DA** sheep. Blammmm Blammm LOL :D ( i have sheep. If you know, you know.)

sham the roofing was rotten , if you need put holes in plastic of that type a piece of round bar just heat with a blow torch will make neat holes

Whatever you do make sure your handling system is made so the cattle always go around a left hand corner, it will make your life so easy

Brilliant, funny, entertaining as usual for me but not so much for your Sunday. Pain in the arse. Maybe thin flat steel or ally either side of a decent sheet if you can get one off the shelf then bolt the sheet in between them and hopefully you can bolt and bend it to shape as you go across? Only thing I can think, no idea of cost either but you'd need that idea in several places across.

The sharp side of the tag makes the hole, the punch applies the pressure, I see where you were coming from and adapting an eartag to not clip into it's other half may well work 😊

how do you get cattle into collection point the crush you would be better pushing cattle to the outside and turn the circle pen around also footbath in race just a thought otherwise great improvement .Also where do you store barley and minerals feed and vaccines anti biotics calfing machine calf formula hot water source

Using passage as collection and the pens pre circle. Then exit to the other pen (which isnt really a pen just the rest of a lean too. Crush has side exit for siving off beasts to that area to hold back for whatever reason. Have other sheds there for feed etc. thanks for mentioning hot water 👍🏼 got me thinking
