Hugo.......................... YOU ROCK !!! Man ! So much knowledge ! It's fascinating to be able to hear you share all this ! THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH ! Really interested in how you make those Defocuses without artifacts as I've been struggling so long to do so ! Coming from After Effects, I realized that it was almost impossible to do. But from what I've tried in Nuke, it is better but not perfect either. So really interested on how you use that edge extend in your very first tutorial ! SEE YOU SOON MAN ! Have a great one ! :)

Thanks so much. It's a workflow and pipeline we used to use a lot when I was the Head of Nuke at The Mill London. We even started making some tutorials for the matte painting department so we could work better from PSD to Nuke. Back in the day there was no PSD options in Nuke so it was a bit more tricky. Sometimes we would have to make Tiffs layer by layer to make it work.

Hugo's Desk Cool, what resolution do you use? Nuke it's awesome, Photoshop it's not destructive at all because the masks and adjustment layers, but node based in nuke it's a lot of more poweful for sure. I am playing just with chops networks in houdini, since it's very flexible also.

In this matte painting we used 5K. At The Mill we would use anything from 5K, 8K to 16K depending on how much the camera would move.

Thank you so much for all this nice tutorial............. But can you tell me how to get into nuke as workflow as studios and 1 question - is the proper knowledge and advanced technique to work in nuke is known after working in Studios ( because I am Vfx student at Maac asked for guidance.....)..

Thanks for all the great videos. Quick question, how do you figure out the amount of space/distance to put between the cards to get the proper parallax?
@HugosDesk
@HugosDesk 7 жыл бұрын
+Christopher Middleton Well that depends on the scale of the scene. There is no cm or meters in Nuke but you could use the grid squares as references. Anyway one of my next videos is about the correct setup in Z of a matte painting.
