Friends is an American television sitcom created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman, which aired on NBC from September 22, 1994, to May 6, 2004, lasting ten seasons. With an ensemble cast starring Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer, the show revolves around six friends in their 20s and 30s who live in Manhattan, New York City. Yeah, childhood plushies are the ultimate gift. I mean, imagine loving someone and trusting them so much that you are willing to gift them your childhood stuffed animal? Yeah, I don't think we have relationships like those anymore. Even people who marry each other don't have THAT level of commitment anymore. That is why it is the ultimate gift and a sign of love and trust. Nothing beats that. And to you and anyone reading this... I wish you to find someone in your life that you would be willing to gift your childhood plushy toy to and never regret it.

@@Wustenfuchs109 The ultimate gift when you're a baby. But when you're an adult, you outgrow your plushies and give them away. Joey being a manchild is the reason he's still attached to Huggsy even as an adult. I personally gave away all my plushies when I grew up

the last bit I totally agree with Joey, it's his Hugsy he needs his hugsy. there are some things you can't part with even when you grow up. I know that far too well, unfortunately for me my parent's didn't understand and ripped those precious comfort away from me. and caused me a lot of trouble.

I had a pound puppy pillow that I slept with every night after I got it.... well my stepdad was selfish and greedy and my sister was born when I was 10 so he took it from me to give to her and yes I got over it but that was my Christmas gift. Parents need to think before they act.

See this is a difficult situation. Parents don't want their children to be crying all day and night because after a while people will call you neglectful and a bad parent but that's Joey's toy. i feel like they should've instead tested it like hiding hugsy and having Joey hug her to see if it worked.

I can relate to this--I have a penguin, he was an original member of the Shirt Tales from back in the 80's. I don't know what his name was on the show but it used to have VIP (for very important penguin) on it's shirt so I've always called him Vippy. I wouldn't trade him for anything!

God, this was annoying. Rachel isn’t entitled to Joey’s childhood possessions. Attachments like this are deeper than meets the eye. Sure, it’s a show, but parents are just as inconsiderate in real life.

A parent stole my Monkey teddy bear after I refused to give it to her 5 year old. I was 19 so according to her I was too old for the teddy anyways (as if I cared lol).So she stole it on her way out I found it at their house the next day all shredded up and being ripped apart by their dog That tedy bear was given to me by this sweet black lady when I was at the orphanage. She was the only kind soul I had during those lonely days of my childhood....sadly she passed away at the age of 86. So yeah, childhood possessions mean more to people then meets the eye

Yeah and then in the end she manipulates/reverse psychology's Joey into giving it up.... I swear watching this show as an adult makes me question how people saw Rachel as so likeable (Don't get me wrong I absolutely LOVE Jennifer Aniston lol But seriously the character Rachel is severely flawed in a lot of ways)

I used to think Joey got Hugsy like a few years ago, as a adult, but now reading this, if he had Hugsy ever since he was a kid, then rachel is one inconsiderate white Karen parent. The show didnt show enough screen of how much Rachel can be busy and tired by a child who wants only Hugsy or cry. I have Penguin just like Hugsy to Joey. I could share my Penguin to a child I feel close duding the day. But I want back my Penguinu during the night I go to bed. So I think Rachel should be reasonable for the time sake, borrow Hugsy for some time and give back to Joey when he needs in his special time.

Babies are sensitive to smells and texture when they can't distinguish visual details yet. Odds are, Emma noticed the new Hugsy's fabric smelled and felt different. Rachel may also have a point though, old one probably smells like Joey.

I love Joey so much he’s so adorable and Rachel was so wrong about how she handled things it’s Joey’s stuffed animal just because Emma loved it doesn’t mean Joey had to give it up to her and the fact that Rachel tried to manipulate him into giving it to her was horrible everybody at some point in their life has had a stuffed animal that they were attracted to or a stuffed animal that they loved and maybe they still love it as they get older and nobody should have to have it taken away from them all because they are grown up I’m so glad Joey got to keep his hugsy it belongs to him and nobody should have the right to take his stuff from him

Really funny, except Rachel being unreasonably pretentious and also manipulative towards the end of the scene. It's not like the whole world is revolving around her Emma and her baby wishes. Joey had to send her mother to heck at the stage when she broke into his room and started interrogating him about what was this big lump under his covers.

My ex bestfriend (we aren't in talking terms anymore) had gifted me a teddy years ago who was my night time buddy but when I was 20 yrs,my sister's sister-in-law has came to our house and her three kid years kid wanted that teddy badly and I couldn't resist much ,she played with it like a football and also dumped him in water,I was blowing with angry but couldn't say anything due to her mother being my sister's sister-in-law but the time they were leaving she wasn't ready to leave it even on her mother's insistence,and I couldn't resist myself so I literally snatched it from her saying that I will get you a new one.
