Combine that with the fact that Hulk *knows* they share a body, and that only one of them can "exist" at a time. Hulk doesn't want to go away, Hulk wants to live his own life. He resents Banner not only because Banner hates him and wants to get rid of him despite Hulk saving his life multiple times, but also because until he was able to escape to Sakaar, Hulk was only ever allowed to come out to fight. As angry as Hulk is, and as much as he clearly *enjoys* smashing things, there IS more to him than just fighting monsters. Sakaar finally allowed Hulk to be Hulk even during downtime.

Why does Bruce always refer to the hulk as an individual separate to himself? Why is Jennifer able to retain who she is as the hulk? These questions and more are all answered in the comics on multiple occasions throughout different continuities as multiple personality disorder. Jennifer acts the same because she doesn't have multiple personality disorder. Bruce always refers to him as a different individual because he is a different individual. Hulk can respond "no" because he is a conscious being. Ragnorok hulk acts like a different person because in the comic the movie came from, he was his own person separate being from Bruce. The main plotline of the current hulk run that is still running right now, starship hulk, follows hulk and Bruce as separate personalities and is constantly illustrating that. The comic before that, immortal hulk, was all about his multiple personality disorder and mentioned it constantly and features 4-6 different personalities. The main four being Bruce Banner, salvage/child hulk (Bruce's childhood rage), Joe Fixxit (the grey hulk who was a genius hacker and was a casino mob boss), and devil hulk (the father figure Bruce never had who follows Bruce's luck of not having good father figures), with mentions of Professor hulk (the current mcu hulk), and glimpses and mentions of world War hulk (the hulk that ragnorok hulk is based on) just read it yourself. It may be super gory but it's a great read in my opinion.

@@btg-bp4vl Hulk is canonically a different personality, not a separate individual. Real people with the disorder do refer to the other personalities as separate people. Hulk is not a separate being at all.

@@btg-bp4vl Not really, it’s pretty straight forward. Their other personalities are not actual people. Whether they refer to the other personalities as other people or not, it doesn’t change that fact.

I dont believe it did, I have a feeling Bruce's current state is actually him somehow suppressing Hulk and all that anger he would feel he is bottling. He's in denial and I think Hulk is going to break out at some point and be very very angry.

Well I rather have smart Hulk than this joke-of-a-Hulk who cant match Thanos for more than 2 mins. He cant even beat nerfed Thor on Sakaar. His issue is he's not getting stronger with anger as he supposed to be.

I'm kinda hoping that Marvel snaps out of it after phase 4 and stops writing their storylines like the Hulk would, and Smart Hulk will make the decision to revert his transformation, realising that it was wrong to trap Hulk's consciousness in whatever limbo he's in now. Though wishful thinking, I think it would be nice for them to come full circle back to the seriousness of the Hulk's character, possibly ret conning the happy-go-lucky writing Hulk has had since Endgame as Banner pushing all of his issues under the rug, pretending that everything is fine. At least, that feels like one way they could fix this Hulk issue

@@randomguy7766 I mean phase 4 has been good so far imo. I like the way they're doing she-hulk: attorney at law, I think it's interesting. I do want them to take hulk more seriously tho, but I also realize that part of why they haven't is bc Disney don't really own the rights to the character, and he can only appear if he isn't the main character of what he's in

I liked the beginning of phase 4 (aka Loki, Wandavision, Shang Chi etc) but the direction they've taken characters recently has rubbed me the wrong way, like Thor, Hulk and even Dr Strange. But yeah, like you said, I do find She Hulk interesting and getting to see what happens with the abomination is enough of a lure for me :)

Meanwhile, without spoiling anything, Love and Thunder felt like it could have been an original disney movie with a wacky and zany adventure.. which would have been fine if that's what Thor's character was previously, which it wasn't

honestly, no. not true at all well like kinda true. it's pretty complex haha. it's multiple personality disorder, or dr. jekyll and mr. hyde i'm pretty sure there are times in the comics where bruce and the hulk are separated, like different bodies or at least 'souls' for different characters, and i know for a fact at some point the hulk is written like a werewolf (comes out at night haha) but then there's shit like the hulk can't be mind-controlled not because like he's too angry to be controlled but because of like his willpower i think and that's a hulk thing but he gets it from bruce because i believe it's been explained that only bruce has the willpower to not just always be the hulk and destroy everyone indiscriminately and that's a bruce thing but it's a huge part of the connection between the two characters

You need to realize that the MCU isn't the only way to experience these characters. They did not ruin the Hulk. They ruined the MCU's hulk. Ruffalo's hulk. You have alllll the comics, shows, and animated movies in the world to check out. Don't waste your time getting upset over comic book movies. Because if trivial things like this upset you, then god knows how many things make you absolutely miserable.
