पहली बार सुना मैंने। हैरानी होती है कि मेहंदी हसन साहब ने लता मंगेशकर को ट्रिब्यूट के रूप में अपने दौर का लता जी का गाया यादगार नगमा गाकर मदहोश कर दिया । आज लुप्त हो गया है वो सुनहरा दौर ! "किस जगह जाएँ किसको दिखाए जख्मी दिल अपना, कोई नहीं अपना" ।

NOT MEHDI HASSAN JI. I am sorry to say this NOT MEHDI HASSAN ji. He never sang her or anyone else songs for great respect for other singers. This is Late Ikraam Mehdi ji ( peace be upon his Devine soul) whom Mehdi Hassan Ji (peace be upon his Devine musical soul) use to take him with him for some shows to let him sing his filmi songs. It’s confirmed in utube. These uplifted r cheating millions who r not familiar with Khansaheb’s voice. I am listening to him over 55 years daily for hours.😡😡😡😡😡😡

Wah. Shandaar. Bahut sunder. Great. Ek mahaan hasti dwaara diya gaya sammaan, doosri mahaan hasti ko. Donon ko prannam. Original song ke sangeetkaar, Madan Mohan sb., aur unkey poorey orchestra ko prannam. Jai shiv shanker. Kya great log thhey. Hum un bhagya-shali logon mein shamil hain, jinhon-ney in mahaan hastiyon ko perform kartey hue dekha hai. Baarambaar naman.

What song to choose, (!!!) to give a living tribute to the Queen of Melody? The three greats are no more, but their genius lives on. Madan Mohan ushered an elevated different dimension to Lataji's repertoire. And the king of ghazals, "Ranjish hi Sahi," is singing that classic, in his own majestic voice.
