Human hair extensions and wigs can cost thousands of dollars. But what's their true cost and where does the hair actually come from? Most of it comes from impoverished people in countries like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Myanmar. There are also reports of Uighurs in China being forced to process human hair products in internment camps. But not all human hair products are the result of exploitation. So how can you tell the difference?

I would NEVER use human hair for any wigs or extensions. For this reason alone, you have no idea of the origins or situation for the acquisition of this hair. I will always use synthetic for my braid extensions and wigs. Or just wear my natural hair.

So those wearing wigs for fashionable reasons, but supposedly fight against oppression, are hypocrites. The hair coming from truly willing participants is EXTREMELY low.

Every year I set a small goal and pray to lord Murugan(Thiruchendur temple) that if I achieve this goal I will give my hair as a offering (I cannot offer other body parts without any pain other than my hair:):)) I think I have given my hair as a offering more than 15 times, most of the Indian does the same thing as of me. We set a goal and pray to our favorite god once he makes it successful we sacrifice our hair as a token of thanks. Also saving your hair regularly will make your hair stronger and denser(Personal experience).

JESUS loves you and wants to restore you! You don’t have to offer Him anything, but your faith! This is just so He can bless you and do great things for you! God, (JESUS), gave you your hair as a sign of Glory! Just know, not everyone wears wigs for fashion. Some are cancer survivors or have hair loss. You are a blessing. Just make sure you’re doing it because you want too. GOD, (JESUS), does not need you to do this. He (JESUS: Lord), loves you for you!

Jesus loves you and was a sacrifice. You do not have to sacrifice your hair. Accept Jesus’s payment so that you can live without fear of having to face God’s wrath when this life is over because Jesus already paid the price when he bore our sins and died as a sacrifice. ❤

This is not ture, Chinese hair material are collected by Collectors, they collect and place hair from girls and women who live in villiages. Then they sell the hair both long and short together in batches to hair factories. The factories make the hair into wigs then sell in the market.

I always send positive vibes and prayers to hair and the people it may have come from, I'm very grateful for it I feels so happy and more confident because of it, I want all the best of things for the donors with many blessings sent to them. I certainly hope they are being compensated fairly, especially for the joy they bring to many women. I of course do not agree with any person being exploited for hair, I actually wouldn't buy it if I had any knowledge that they where being taken advantage of.

Holy Hannah, that's a lot of hair most wigs I see are about 350-360 grams... I'm no expert but I would assume you'd get quite a few wigs out of that

I find it funny that there are always women with their natural hair judging wigs, but those same women change themselves in some way. If you straighten your natural texture, dye your natural color, wear 2 inches of make up, get bbls and other cosmetic procedures, you have no right to call some one else insecure or a self hater. 🤣

This narrative is far from hair texture. More along the lines of looking as less "African" as one can and profiting from that glaring insecurity. "African Hair" 😆. My biological sisters and their daughters do very well maintaining their "African" hair.

The sad story of believing that "be different every day" is great for a person. I personally prefer seeing woman as she is, than different every day. I say, be yourself, not someone else. Take care of yourself, but not thanks to someone else hardship.

Well, women don't really care what you personally prefer. If they like to wear wigs and wear makeup, they can do it whether you like it or not because it is their own body. It's just that it is best to buy synthetic hair, which will avoid exploitation like in the video.

Its so popular, and well known in academic world for years, so i guess german would know it... You said me i cant bear reality of ccp doing hair stuff to uygurs...
