It's not magic. Everybody keeps calling it magic. It is entirely devoid of magic and fully applied science to a point that even reading this you can't understand it. Take percussive maintenance. It isn't magic. It's merely adjusting the harmonic resonance of the component from outside of a machine rather than opening it up to an extent where you can physically reach it. You can't describe how to preform it because your description is lacking. You can only know, feel, or preform percussive maintenance. To an outsider from this plane it looks like magic. To one in touch with the mechanical realm... well... I remember one such individual. Master of harmonic resonance. So much so he could deliver it thru any connected object. Walls, floors, pipes, and even the mere air between him and the target was enough for him to alter harmonic resonance. Rendered completely inert by one psionic as he just discarded the connection to the mechanical realm until he saw fit otherwise. See it for yourself if you do not believe. Mork vs The Fonz is a classic example of why a psionic entity always wins in the end. We still don't know exactly where The Fonz's connection to the mechanical realm ends. They stopped first.

No, the super space hell demon doesn't do this. This is the mind and thoughts of everyone that ever was all at once pouring in and retaining your own sense of self in all of it. Imagine being a water balloon tossed into the ocean and popped. Then the balloon is forced back into itself without losing anything and coming out whole, with a few extra bits.

I once suffered an extreme headache that cause me to overthink and visualize random things at high speed. I can't comprehend what is going through my head as the pain course through me. It is so painful, I tried to sleep away the pain but I instead I get shocked awake for a day. Sometime, I realized I some how lost consciousness and woke up due to pain.

to be honest? Sounds like Sensory Overload, combined with the "upgrade". Something dumped a huge Databank in his Mind and his Brain had trouble to process the input. Our Brain needs a constant sensory feedback from the Body to give new commands. But with the Brain running on 100% processing power to deal with the input, there is a "Lag". Signals from his Pain receptors are to weak to get his Brains Attention, thats why he cant feel pain in that moment. Ever had a moment where you slept on your arm or your leg rested in an unsual angle? Then you know the tingly, dull feeling when you try to use that limb. Try to walk around with that tingly sensation, when your Nerves sends confusing informations to your brain. Thats the zombie-like walk. Laughter and screaming can be triggered by hormons, realeased by the Brain. I would say his Mind was so busy with the input of "the shroud", that basic control functions went out of control. And when he had processed the first set of new Knowledge, it caused a psionic energy spike that threw him into another place, followed by the shockwave of him ripping space-time for a split second^^ Also: Welcome back :) Hope you could recover a bit.

Humanity is capable of creating the most beautiful of dreams, and the most horrendous of nightmares. This Jack boy (Yes, I know, work of fiction, or truth that happened way back then that it no longer matters), just jumped into the Astral Plane. I was smiling, ear to ear, when I listened to this story. Knew what the boy is capable of, knew his potential, and would of loved to be a mentor to him. But this is a past experience or a work of fiction and I'm just glad to listen to it. Thank you for the narration.

Jesus christ, wtf, this one of the few stories that have both given me goosebumps and a cold sweat. Don't get me wrong, this is probably one of the best stories that I have heard so far, but still the sheer description of what was going on was amazing. I'd give both the narration and story a firm 100/10.

It has been a while since I have had the pleasure of a good psionics tale. Really good this one. Reminds me of a couple of really good books, my first one of this subject was Psion by Joan D. Vinge. Really good. This one story feels like a really good introductory story to a really cool Mythos, and a ton of interesting books.
