In early 2024, Yemen stands at a crossroads-a critical juncture where hope for a peaceful settlement of the conflict coexists with urgent humanitarian needs. After nine years of war, over half of Yemen’s population-18.2 million people, requires humanitarian assistance and protection services. However, funding gaps persist.
With funding from Global Affairs Canada, CARE constructed two tanks, two health facilities were rehabilitated and constructed two rooms and two toilet facilities in the health facilities, distributed cash assistance and hygiene kits to 417 households, conducted cleaning campaigns, trained 20 volunteers to provide sessions to 18,670 individuals, trained health facilities workers on health and nutrition on referral mechanism, and installed one solar panel and constructed 6 water distribution points in Amran Governorate.
