The story has so much potential it started out so good but then at the midway point after the mind battle dude just goes to an island gets a superpower and he’s fighting the last boss like everything happened so quickly it just doesn’t make any sense

The transition from battle to a challenge in a simulator was, at the least, silly. Novak had the shot, Terry had the shot, overthinking the results of eliminating the enemy on the battle field is foolish. Agreeing to set up a meet between your rivals and your enemy as a condition of a win or lose battle is stupid, even if the odds are slim. Novak compromised a position of strength, a stupid move by a supposedly "supreme warlord"...this needs to get better quickly or it will be another "can't finish due to lameness" story. So then the guy who overthinks the moment when he could have killed Novak reaches out and grabs a symbiot with little thought at all. We go from stupid to really stupid. Nope, can't finish.

This is a tragedy of a story. These HFY stories are getting worse and worse but I guess that’s what happens when you let AI do the writing for you.
