Wow that was incredible reporting. What a place. The old museum, the cave, the remoteness of the village. It was nice to meet the villagers. I hope they can meet their family one day. I wish it wasn't so hard for them.

I m from Kargil, first thanks to Quint for this documentary. Hunderman brok village last point of our indian territory LOC border village a focal point of tourist distination for our indian tourist in Kargil and and it is now main source of Tourism but their is only a single way road and at the view point there is not a proper parking system a small vehicle cant turn back easily at that point because of conjestion of road,, so i requested if higher authorities seing this documentary.....jai hind jai Baharat,, happy independance day @15Aug..2021.....

Thank u quint for covering this story....As i belongs to kargil i request both the nation to connect this border as they did in kashmir & amritsar....the village brolmo in Pakistan is merely 2 km from hundurman village.....such initiative can connect families which are sperated in the war....moreover they need not to travel 1000 km to meet....Tourism sector can be boosted as that of wagah.....

The pathetic stories of thousands of separated families across the LOC in Kargil and Baltistan.

There are so many unheard soul touching stories ...one of the guy from a village...only child of his parent ...whose father got traped across the line during 71 war ...that guy grew up with a dream to see his father's face once in his life ..his mother ..who was just 18..20 yrs ..when they got seprated ..single handedly took care of her only child ....when the boy was 25 years ..he was able to few thousands rupees doing odd jobs ......after so many ups and downs he got his passpoart ...and the day he was supposed to leave his village to atari border ...he got the news of his father's demise .... His only dream in life to see his father's face could not be fullfilled .even after 30 years of struggle

This video had me contemplate about one thing.. While we might take joy in saying that India won the war and Pakistan lost, we somewhat tend to forget the impact of the war on those innocent people who are caught in the turmoil.. Families scattered, lives lost and the long lasting trauma... Just cz they live there... Man that's sad when we think about it, cz its always the innocent who has to suffer the most.. Yes, we should have a strong army enough to defend our territory and our people but using that force should always be the last resort.. Cz if war happens, it's impact on the innocent people is inevitable. Also the both the governments (India and Pakistan) should let the people from both the villages visit each other

Indian and Pakistan governments allow to meet these 3 villages people once in a month because they are belong to same family before 1971 war.

It's so sad knowing the history of such a beautiful land

like hundarman many villages r there .. like karkit Badgam, kaksar,latoo,...U should visit there also.
