You should always keep your wheat germ in the refrigerator to minimize rancidity. I buy small containers of it (raw or toasted) because wheat germ doesn’t keep long. If my wheat germ that I purchased is not in a glass jar with a tight lid to begin with, I do put it in a Mason jar that seals it when I get home and I always keep it in the refrigerator.

I just found a 5 pound bag of organic wheat germ on Amazon for $20. I'll have it one day after I order it. I trust your judgment. Do you think it will raise my blood sugar? I can freeze it and thaw it to make it into resistant carbohydrates. What's your advice? I have type 2 diabetes that is under control.

@@drjoetvMD For your blood pressure videos, you may want to test/monkey around with the amino acid powder taurine. Among othet things, research supports taurine’s blood pressurie lowering effects. And not surprisingly and interesting , I have seen lots of anecdotal information mainly from elderly people claiming that when all else failed to significantly reduce their high blood pressure, including meds, Taurine was the only thing that dropped their blood pressure to optimal levels and much to the shock of their doctors. I monkeyed around with Taurine when I noticed my blood pressure creeping up. With all things being equal(diet and exercise) and compared to other things I had tried, to my surprise, Taurine dropped my blood pressure like a sack of potatoes and back within the optimal range

The food is humble. So is the Doctor! Thanks so much for your preventive advice. My question is whether the Humble Food should be taken raw or can be roasted or even cooked as the morning porridge. Watching you from France.
@drjoetvMD

Yes, you can cook it with your morning porridge or add it at the tail end of cooking it. You can have it raw and you can also toast it too. Gives a nutty flavour either way

@drjoetvMD
@drjoetvMD 3 ай бұрын
Unfortunately I won't be doing that video except to tell folks to ignore that fantasy idea by someone looking to make a name for himself (and he has) for inventing a concept that has no logic or science to it at all. Your blood group has no relationship with foods you eat. None!

Wow! Dr. Joe. I just got told my cholesterol is too high (from 5 to 7.4) Since a year ago I've been trying to live on the keto diet with red meats, eggs etc. I was also told I have too much cortisol and a very high insulin. None of the experts have told me anything about liver issues etc. But they're quick to prescribe statins for the high cholesterol. I am on HRT since age 37 (now 61). Can you help me please? I've always been a very healthy eater, exercise etc, so I'm very confused what's causing all these internal issues. I would really appreciate if you breakdown my illnesses and givr mr a diet that will help me going forward with the combination of conditions i suffer😢
@drjoetvMD
@drjoetvMD 3 ай бұрын
Mercy, I do not think your keto diet is helping your cholesterol at all. Those foods you are eating make it worse. I know keto is the latest shining object in the horizon but it is not what I would recommend personally but I leave it to you. If you need my help, let me know but you have to stop keto as a starting point otherwise I can't help you

@@drjoetvMD Thanks so much Dr. Joe for getting back to me so fast. I'm going through your videos and just viewed the bit where you talk about turning off the tap...I will start immediately and measure myself over this and coming months. I didn't realise I was doing it wrong, when I've been consuming raw, blended Okra (thanks to one of your previous videos) but I was still consuming loads of eggs and red meat. I just got rid of all the meat and gearing up to go buy thr ingredients you've talked about. You spoke about the milky drink made of lemon, dates and h2o...it would be organic lemons right? Since other lemons contain pesticides in the peel? I can't wait to keep you posted on my progress sir. By the way I also crave a lot of carbohydrates and sometimes sugar too )stopped taking sugar a year ago but, shamefully, the cravings got me back on. I wonder what the combination of issues are doing to my body na waoo

@@mercyln6646 If you can find organic lemons and can afford them, go for it but I don't like the label of 'Organic' to get in the way of people eating healthy foods. I don't insist on organic.
