This MK4 GTI has the clutch pedal slamming to the floor. This is likely the slave cylinder failing. For this one, the transmission needs to be removed from the GTI to replace it. Since we are that close, I will also be doing timing chains on this VR6 #shorts #vr6 #humblemechanic

Had this happen on my 240SX many moons ago, limped it home and found the slave cyl blown out. Installed new one, blew immediately. Swapped that with another, also blew out immediately. Figured out the pivot ball for the release fork snapped off. Trans had to come off, $600 job for a $10 part. Man, that sucked.

My slave cylinder died on my first car, a 1990 Geo Prizm hatchback, while stopped at a busy stoplight. Clutch when straight to the ground. Turned off the car, put it in first, light turned green, turned on the car and went. It was a shitty drive home lol. Loved that little beater of a car.

Broke my fork when the clutch when out on one of my Hondas. Couldn't belive how hard it was to find a clutch fork for that car. Luckily a shop I used to hang UT at had one laying around for whatever random reason.

This happened on my mk4 as well, but it was the pedal itself that was broken. The release bearing failed and the balls came out and jammed the clutch release mechanism and made the clutch pedal rock hard. In trying to get the card home, I was pressing on the pedal so hard that one of the welds on the pedal failed. This was on the older 02K gearbox.

i had this same thing. it was the pusher stick that is shapped like a finger which pushes the rod through the gearbox and onto the clutch. The finger cracked after years and years of use. The mechanics were really surprised because it was such a odd failure. They thought it was the clutch slave or clutch install failture which they did. But it turns out it was a completely new issue.

I towed a car and my clutch pedal is stuck to the floor. I changed the flywheel, complete clutch system and release bearing early last year with the LUK SYSTEM. Any help.
