Hey mate, thanks for the advice on the cedar wrapper! I hear you about the non-cubans, and I'm trying them every now and then, just not reviewing them much as cubans. New world cigars are definitely built better and you never have an issue with wrapper cracking or draw tightness, and there are some great ones out there for sure. Generally I'm definitely leaning towards cubans more when looking for body and flavour, but I'm giving non-cubans a try every now and then. With recent prices, I might go with them even more in the future. :)

I also keep them at around 70% humidity. If you want to age them for over a year, then it's best to do it closer to 65%, because it will slow down the process. Good idea to get another humidor for Cubans separately, even though you can still just use a separator in your drawers to keep them apart. It's also recommended to switch their position every now and then, just to make sure they breathe and change their environment inside the humidor a bit. Cheers mate!

I have about 1000 cigars (probably about 50/50 cuban to non-cuban). I find that 70% is far too high and leads to burning issues. I basically just keep it in the 62-68% range but when I see anythign with a 6 on my hygrometer I barely pay attention. If you care about a couple percent then you will drive yourself nuts and it really doesnt matter. Mind you I am doing this with nearly 6 figures of cigars. You do not need a different humidor for cuban vs non-cuban they all smoke better in the lower 60s but it also depends where you live to some extent. I have a wineador with about 250 cigars for my singles and 2 large coolers where I store my boxes. I am looking at the remington cabinets to get one day but am waiting until I move to have more space for something that large. The coolers are great for boxes because they stay completely even with humidity and the boveda packs/beads almost never need refilling.
