Interesting thing is that three great singers were assembled for this song but Lata Mangeshkar single-handedly performed for three actresses with her variations. Rafi, Kishore, Mukesh, Manna Dey, Talat, Mahendra Kapoor, Shailendra Singh, Udit Narayan, Shabbir Kumar, Sonu Nigam, Kumar Sanu, these all are great stalwarts. Each of them ruled in their respective peak years. But the lady which remains constant with all of them is Lata Mangeshkar ❤️❤️❤️❤️.

जब मुकेश जी इस गाने को शुरू करते है तब सारा माहोल ही बदल जाता है..मतलब उन्होंने जिस अंदाज से वो चार लाईन गायी हैं ना वो सूनके इन्सान अपने आप में खो जाता है, मुझे लगता हैं इस गाने मे मुकेशजी ने रफिजी,किशोरजी,और लताजी को मात दे दी..❤❤

When Rafi sahab starts his version., at 4:22 , hear the vocal perfection. It’s a high note and he sustains it with a subtle vibrato. In the next verse., there is two nuances, Kalaam ,and hoon…both are perfectly rendered. And his ab tak Chupahe rakha is funny and romantic at the same time .

The sad thing is that only 3 of the actors are alive (Rishi, Parveen, Vinod RIP) while all the Legendary singers are all gone RIP. So is Laxmikant (Long live Pyarelal). Manmohan Desai as well RIP. It brings tears to my eyes. One of the greatest songs ever in Bollywood history. First and last time all 4 Legendary singers sung together. RIP to Mukesh, Rafi, Kishore & finally Lata didi. That era will never return. Golden!
