मैं ये मानता हुँ की एक कलाकार के लिये - गुलजार साहब का गीत उन्ही को सुना सके इससे अच्छा और आनंददायी और क्या हो सकता है ? .. मगर उसी समय मन ही मन यह भी सोचता हुँ की खुद गुलजार साहब भी तो एक कलाकार ही है .. और बरसों बाद भी उनका गाना आज उतनाही पॉप्युलर है और आपने इतना लाजवाब गाया है तो उन्हे भी उतनीही खुशी मिली होगी जीतनी आपको मिली हो .. और रही बात हमारी ... आपकी रुह महसूस कर हमारी आँखे न जाने कब नम हो गयी ... सुंदर - अतिसुंदर ! - संदीप अघोर LIC नाशिक.

My salute to Gulzar saheb.This song stunned me in 1970 when I was in a single-digit age. The definition of love in its purity. 53 years have passed and this song remains with me. Still residing on top of my 'favorite' list. You cannot add or subtract anything in this definition. It's complete.

Lata Ji has sung it beautifully and many singers have also presented this song on stage and sung very beautifully. But there is a great difference. Every word that has 'Sa'. like, sirf, ensaas, mehsoos.... you can feel a whistling sound. But Lata jis song has no such whistling and that was her class.
