What is your normal flight height when filming large areas like train yards, I’m usually around 120’. Just curious if you have a rule of thumb

I'd say I range from about 150-400. My rule of thumb is to stay above the height of any buildings where I'm shooting. In talking with FAA officers and attorneys over the years, they have all said I need to stay above the "usable space" of a facility to not be trespassing. So, I try to find the tallest structure in a yard and stay above that. Hopefully that makes sense and helps.
