I think best passport as on date are Singapore and Japan as far visa free travel is concerned .. My sister and brother in law having ILR for many years now..There both kids born in London,they are having British Passport . Congratulations to both of you Good Luck & God Bless

Do not spread wrong information: People on ILR can use public funds. When I was on my ILR I received a bursary from my University which is a public fund. If one of the parents is on ILR, the child automatically will be eligible for Citizenship.

A hearty congratulations to both of you! Always happy to see young couples progressing in their life! I have a question, though. This is for my son who's planning to study in the UK this coming September 2023 or Jan 2024. 1) What's the difference between PR and ILR? 2) Do we need to have to apply for ILR after getting the PR? 3) Do we need to have PR or ILR? Little more clarity on this would be truly appreciated. Thanks!

PR & ILR both same in the UK.. after working 5 years continuously on skilled worker visa you can apply for permanent residency (PR) or Indefinite leave to remain (ILR)

Sir, a "PR" is called an "ILR" in the UK. Both are not different. Just the way it is called is different in the UK. In Canada, Australia and New Zealand its called PR and in the US its called Green Card.

It can also be taken away without notice, so say you have missed council tax or not paid a parking fine, and u go abroad they can deny u entry even if you have a British citizenship. This British nationality bill was passed in April.

I have checked didn't see nit paying council tax can lead to deprivation of British citizenship. Kmt it reminds me of when people was told not paying council tax can lead to prison lol. Let.me tell I recently was granted citizenship and I owned council tax 😂 the government always say this rubbish to scare people lol. Use ur head not everything u see online u git believe

Is it really necessary to stay for full 5 years in UK and then apply or just by completing the 5th year 6 months and in the country and then apply for the ILR?

It is possible to submit your ILR application up to 28 days before the end of your qualifying period. If you apply earlier, you will not be eligible and your application is likely to be refused. You will however need to ensure you should apply before the end of your permitted stay in the UK.

You must be in the country 190 days before the application and not have lived outside for more than 180 days in 2 years before over 2 consecutive periods or consecutively.

Congrats. After getting British passport u can't enter in india without visa. And u can't stay unlimited time in india. As u said 7: 09 u can stay unlimited time in others country. Wrong info.

Congratulations! * But I just want to point out that at the airport immigration line, your partner (Gaurav) will be able to join you in the British passport line as he is your spouse despite him having a non-UK passport because he is the spouse of a British citizen. * People with either ILR or LTR would still be eligible for government benefits as usually they are giver recourse to public funds with work permitted. Only time they wouldn't is if they are here with Limited leave to remain, no recourse to public funds or an asylum seeker. Even refugees have work permitted and recourse to public funds. 👍
