Here is part one of our new series - Deep Water Fording conversion, where we install the deep water fording exhaust. Installation was not too difficult and we love the results. It seems like it is decreasing the noise level in the cabin, which we were asked about before. Overall, we love the look and the feel of the deep water fording exhaust. Thanks so much for watching, hope you enjoy this video and you find it helpful in your own Humvee projects. :)
Don't forget subscribe to our channel for more Humvee Deep Water Fording conversion videos and more projects like these! Also, it really means a lot to us if you've liked this video to give us a thumbs up and tell your friends!
Don't forget - this is my personal experience and the way I chose to do it, as is the case in all my other Humvee project videos as well. There are many different ways to go about it so please remember, I am not suggesting what to do or any particular way to do it, but I am just sharing my experience to help others! Please do NOT do anything that would risk yourself or your loved ones, or your equipment.

The gasket is a high temperature grafoil seal (compressed natural graphite made from exfoliated mineral flake (crystalline) graphite.) They use them in power plant high temperature piping systems.

Just as an FYI, the deep water fording kit will help going through deep water of course, but the real limiting factor to the Humvee/H1's fording depth is the hydrostatic pressure on the seals and the vent system. After crossing deep water, you should always do a check of the hubs, diffs and tcase. Pull the transmission dipstick to ensure no water got in there either. The vent system IS tied into the air intake for the engine however, there could be leaks and cracks in the plastic tubing after 20 or 30 years. Fun fact, the HMMWV gauges are waterproof but the H1's aren't. Wonder why :)

Great video, thank you. Do you know the height from the ground to the top of the exhaust. My garage clearance is 79.5”.

Thank you so much, Jason :) so happy you enjoyed the video. I am not sure about the height, I would check for you but we are unfortunately currently unable to do so as we had some family emergency. Let me know in the future if you don't have an answer, and I can measure it for you as soon as I can! So sorry about that. I may also recommend posting your question on one of the Facebook Humvee groups, I'm sure someone can give you measurements. Have a great weekend. :)

My exhaust was a half inch too tall. Ended up having a welder trimming off 1.5 to 2 inches off. Fits now and looks great.
