As CBS New York's Jennifer Bisram reports, while demonstrators say it's an attack on migrants, others say the president's executive orders are necessary.

I'm against open borders for the record. But - their families/friends are likely already here. Makes it a lot easier to get adjusted upon getting in the country. Also, I can't think of one country in south/central america for which anyone has hopes of "making it nice". A lot of illegal immigrants are coming from central america and a lot of them have poor education anyway (can't read/write). What change are they going to make with a poor education? It's not like we're getting flooded with engineers / scholars etc that were even capable of making a change in their home country.

The constitution applies to everyone on American soil regardless of citizenship (with the exception of the right to vote)

This then does not include the People of any other nation. The People of the US can be considered to extend to those who are in the country legally, but not to those who are committing a crime in being here.

that girl is an idiot. She said Biden campaigned he would support immigrants. That does NOT mean support and allow an illegal immigration free for all. At that time Trump had people permanently jailed in the processing centers in an inhumane way for years. Biden stood by his word and got those people into processing and put them in humane conditions and reunited them with their children, some were deported per the normal processing procedure. But the girl being interviewed naively thinks that Biden meant any illegal immigrant is allowed to come in without processing and deportation which he never ever said. That would be lunacy. He's abiding by the laws and decreasing the numbers and deporting where deporting is due. It's not a free for all.

As a legal immigrant(non-permanent resident), I work and pay my money and invest my time to be here. I always wondered why America is so generous to illegal immigrants and what American citizens think about this. I came here to study paying tons of money and I have to pay constantly more money to maintain my working status. I will have to pay more to get a green card but it’s fine because this is my decision. What’s nonsense is asylum gets all the rights than I do. And also refugees too. I’m sorry about what happened to them. It’s just unfair to be a normal person
