@Maryanne Moll: Mrs. Barton doesn’t want to pay for those expensive cleaning and conditioning solutions for her boots when some good Ol’ Dawn and vegetable oil are most likely as affective and a whole lot cheaper. LOL I noticed how she switch from the premium oil to her cheaper oil because she realized that the cheaper oil would be as affective and less costly. “Way to go Mrs. Barton”. You’ve paid a lot for your boots so the least the company could’ve done was to give you a sample of their boot care kit that way you can decide if it’s worth purchasing once you compare it with your products.

@Being Barton buy the travel size 4oz bottle of Armor All “tire shine” at Walmart for $2.38. I bet it’s as good or even better than their stuff.

goldbear2 Thank you for sharing. :) I have attempted to find information on rubber degradation...I would like to know if introducing oil as a polish (oil that is intended for salads) has a significant affect on decomposition. Respectfully, my boots still look wonderful, and I would like to offer a truthful first hand account as I watch the results of my polishing job unfold. If rubber takes an estimated 50 years or more to decompose naturally, do you know to what extent introducing salad oil shortens that lifespan? I am genuinely interested. And I appreciate your time.

The chemical structure of ANY oil (exapt silicone-oil) will disintegrate molecule structure of natural rubber: it get´s sticky or it chracks. This was the end of thousands of rubberboots... This takes a few months or in case of oil based on mineral oil some weeks.

Can Hunter rubber boots be used in winter time with harsh salts and in snowy weather? Also can wd40 silicone lubricant spray be used to clean/protect it?

@@m9ho I’ve used my Hunter boots in Chicago, IL where the snow fall each winter is a lot (multiple feet) and salt is also everywhere.

I haven't tried this on any other brand of boot, so I really can't say. The glossy finish was my favorite look a couple of years ago...but now I favor the matte finish. Just a change in preference. Still a huge fan of rubber rain boots! 🙂👍

Genuine Hunter cleaning Product Aigle and Le Chameau are without better quality boots

+I Want To Survive I am hoping to do a review video in another month or so to show what my boots look like now. The shine is gone (these are my outdoor work boots)...and I haven't attempted to polish them more than just this once. I am considering buying another pair and using a more proven method of polish...perhaps even the Hunter Brand polish. I am curious how long I could keep a new pair super glossy. :)

@@megane617 I haven't. This was the last pair of glossy finish Hunter boots I bought. I really like the Play Boot and the finish on those is a matte (I bought them in the short and tall style). I wear my play boots all the time...they are my favorite. Even though I could polish them as a way of conditioning the rubber, I haven't. They look great and have held up well for years now. The taller rain boots shown in this video serve me well as work boots. :)
