There’s a right way and wrong way to install Hunter Douglas PowerView roller shade blinds. The right way is to follow Hunter Douglas installation instructions, which are available from Hunter Douglas website. Installing Hunter Douglas blinds is a very easy installation process if you know how to use a tape measure, a level and a screwdriver. Of course you need to be willing to read and follow instructions, so beware of company/installer when purchasing your Hunter Douglas blinds, or for that matter, any blinds.
This video points out some things to be aware of when having Hunter Douglas blinds installed. This video should be titled "Hunter Douglas Roller Shade Installation Gone Wrong". In other words, there can be a lot of damage and improper installation practices if not installed per Hunter Douglas instructions. As a result of a sloppy and destructive roller shade blind installation, I had to remove and reinstall per Hunter Douglas installation instructions.

Hunter Douglas PowerView roller shades are very good blinds if installed properly.
The blinds in this video were purchased from Kitchen & Bath Showcase in Rapid City South Dakota. Kitchen & Bath Showcase contracted or hired Raymond Keller to install the blinds. Ray Keller did not install the roller shades, literise casette and skyline panel patio door shades per Hunter Douglas instructions. The first attempt damaged windows and the blinds, plus did not look and function as the roller shades were intended to be installed. The second attempt by Raymond Keller shows sloppy workmanship as well as functional problems. I had to remove and properly reinstall the PowerView roller shades per Hunter Douglas install instructions.
The PowerView hub is GEN2 and satellite battery is Lithium Ion rechargeable. The PowerView roller shade are controlled by both remote “Pebble” controller and Alex routines. Alexa uses PowerView app scenes as part of the Alexa routine.
To eliminate “thumping” noise when PowerView roller blind is closing or rolling up, this video shows how to create slight tension on idler assembly knob (left side of blind) by moving left bracket in toward blind.
If roller blind does not roll up straight or is offset on roller (skewed), this video shows how to make sure roller shade is hung level. You may have to shim one side or the other by putting shim between bracket and ceiling. I had to shim my roller shades with one 1/8” shim and another 1/4” shim. The longer the roller shade, the more obvious the shew will be if the roller shade is not hung level. The 3 roller shades in this video are 94” long (10’W x 8’H window).
All hardware was ordered in oil rubbed bronze finish. You also have option to order in white, which is default if not specified.
