Hunter becoming Del’s apprentice in The Owl House was literally everything I ever needed. I’ve been a Hunter palisman carver truther since Elsewhere and Elsewhen!! My demons,, FED!!! I didnt think he'd be ready to make Waffles for a while after the events of season 3, as I kinda imagine this is maybe 2-3 months after the events of Belos' defeat in S3! Somewhere in that timeskip before he carves Waffles (:

A wolf as Hunter's first Palisman carving is absolutely perfect for his character and a great connection to his time in the Human Realm. I like to think Caleb would be proud of his descendant/clone bringing Palisman back to the Boiling Isles

Even without the voices, I can still hear them. The personalities of the characters fit so perfectly, their voices are muffled with each word I read. This is truly heart warming.

I love that his first palisman was a wolf and it showed that he needed some time before making one of his own. He is allowed to have flapjack’s memory and love within him for each creation. This animation was so beautiful and I love the callbacks to not only the episodes but also the time he recorded with flapjack. Not sure what it’s called all I remember is “curse you pancakes!” Of something like that lol. Very well done 😊❤

Getting Tattoos🥹 Eighteen year old Hunter has just gotten his tattoo of Flapjack over his coven sigil and showed it to Luz, Amity, Willow, and Gus. They all agreed it was a wonderful tribute to Flapjack and it gave Luz the idea for all of them to get the same tattoo once they’re old enough. Amity respond saying “Great idea batata”, while Hunter said “Guys you don’t need to do that”. Gus argued with “Of course we do, Flapjack wasn’t just your palismen he was as much a member of our squad as you are”, Willow back him up with “And don’t forget he sacrificed his own life to save yours, so this is the least we can do for him”. Hunter looked at his tattoo and grinned agreeing with “Well if that’s what you guys want”. Two years later the Hexsquad all got tattoos of Flapjack while Hunter looked at his own again with a smile saying “We miss ya Flap”.

This is really amazingly done! i love how Hunter didn't immediately made Waffle for himself, but instead started with a wolf palisman not only out of his love and passion for wolfs, but also wanted to make for future owners to have the same love and loyalty Flapjack gave it to him. also the final few seconds made me tear up like oh my god

I know why every vid I find from creators make me cry, it’s because what they create is truly inspired by the owl house, you guys feel and see Hunter like he was an old friend. That level of dedication reaches my heart and it’s overwhelming.

This is so so gooooood!!!! I don't know if anyone's mentioned it yet, but the "Is it true there's wild magic imbued in it already?" "It is." really got me; it's such a good, subtle callback! And it really sets up the contrast between Belos and Del, even when the dialogue structure is the same, and it just works!!! So well!!!! I love it!!!!!

I love the quick moments you added, like Hunter sticking his tongue out as he carves and the sideways glance when Del says he’s as good as a Clawthorne! You capture the vibe of the show so well and your art is just beautiful!

This was amazing! And this was only within 2 and a half weeks! And it feels like a short that Dana would post on Twitter or smth and it feels so real! Hunter WOULD carve a wolf as his first carving, the bat queen WOULD sense flapjack within hunter, Eda's dad WOULD say and do all this! (We'll we don't know him well but this seems very accurate with what we know)

This literally was so perfectly and consistently done it looks like it came from disney themselves the faces the proportions and perspectives of the characters and surrounding area etc just *chefs kiss* and not to mention the fabulous music track and sound effects that breathed even more life into this masterpiece and how you got the characters spot on the details I just keep coming back to on my many rewatches

The perfect place to pick up the next chapter in Hunter's life. I love it! Definitely gonna treat this as canon.☺ I hope you do more, I would love to see them! I particularly liked his interaction with the Bat Queen! I love that she acknowledged he hurt plenty of palismen as the GG but that he was also so well loved by his own palisman that it showed he ultimately had a good heart. It felt right that she, as someone who so fiercely protected all those palismen, would be the one to offer him forgiveness for the things he now regrets.

This is EVERYTHING! You wrote the dialogue so well! It sounds like the actual characters. And the small gestures, the subtle expressions from Del patting his palisman and Hunter’s thoughts expressed through his eyes, and a WOLF palisman the first palisman Hunter carved is perfect!

2:36 I never understood why they made it so that wolves don’t exist in the boiling isles when one of the characters literally has the word wolf in their name

Well it has been known that they banish certain creatures from the Boiling Isles so either wolves were never there to began with so Hunter could find something new in the human realm to have comfort in or they banished wolves. And if they did banish wolves it was probably not multiple people but some asshole like the emperor because everyone seems intrigued when Hunter tells them about wolves.

@@sadierose3647 ok so according to the wiki Eberwolf’s penstagram’s name is “RAISEDBYDIREWOLVES” dire wolves are an extinct type of wolf from the prehistoric times. The wiki also says Eber is a bipedal demon. So my theory is wolves’ ancestors existed but went extinct so they are no longer in the boiling isles. And before they were extinct they became Eber’s found family. I’m guessing Eber’s name is Eberwolf in honor of those who raised them

OMG!!! Talk about coming full circle! 😭 From The Golden Guard who hunts palismen for Belos, to bonding with our beloved cardinal Flapjack, to finding himself and a group of people who support him, to becoming a palismen carver with a Blue Jay palisman named Waffles, who is related to Flapjack. This show is spectacular and I’m glad that despite its shortened 3rd season, everyone (minus Belos of course) got a happy ending! Thank you again, Dana Terrace and Crew for making The Owl House! We won’t ever forget it! 🦉💜

THIS WHOLE CONCEPT IS AWESOME! I like how you decided who Waffles wasn't his first palisman, but he decided to wait until he feels ready and just keep doing because he doesn't want to make neither witches or palisman feel alone again. It feels more close to canon. I love the dialogues and the artstyle!!
