So this was a cute change of pace. I'm sure we'll get back to the mayhem immediately. It was funny how Hunter kept showing up in unexpected places to make his busts. I had to look up Bronko Nagurski. Oddly, he had just died in January of '90, so maybe the mention here was a bit of a memorial. It's an interesting concept. Most people then were too clueless about computers to realize that every one of their moves could potentially be tracked. Once the connection was made with the victim's wife, her goose was cooked!!! I wonder where Hunter and Hawkins went for dinner. Hawkins was funny.

This was clearly an attempt to make a more lighthearted comic episode. It did have some good moments-in particular, Captain Devane’s manhole cover theft case was kind of cute… But nearly all of the other story threads in this episode simply do NOT work-they were neither funny, nor realistic, nor the least bit believable in ANY way whatsoever-they were just plain badly written. The writer also clearly knew nothing about computer technology of that time, just throwing around terms like “batch files” and “subdirectories” in completely nonsensical ways. No question this series really “jumped the shark” with the departure of Stephanie Kramer as Dee Dee McCall, but the bad writing like this episode was undoubtedly the final nail in the coffin.

Not a very good episode (poorly written) made worse by the plethora of inane KZfaq ads. Too much greed is a bad thing.
