I originally started watching hunter x hunter around 2013 or 2014 with my brother in my grandma's house. I kept watching because I hadn't quite seen such a story with characters that seemed so genuine. I have never seen personalities as touching as hxh's cast. Gave me a sense of overall relief whenever I saw kurapika laugh, or killua smile. People with complex uncontrollable or emotions unknown to them. Individuals who didn't know how to smile or laugh because they had never really seen anyone else do it before. Containing their thoughts and their joy to themselves for so long it's enough to break down. My brother faced his demons and much hell in high school. He had his ankle deformed in the 6th grade and never ran until he was 19. He grew overweight and generally hated himself. Sometimes I would see him late at night lifting his arms up, looking at his fat with the most miserable face that I never want to see again in my life. He pondered killing himself and some mornings would ask me if he should even get up at all. I'd lay there questioning if I had even heard him right. He was an idol to me; he was my big brother. When we got home from school after these times we'd jump right into the sheets and start up hunter x hunter on his phone. It was just a show to me. But for him it was his hope. It was his jajanken. To feel emotion and let out feelings built up inside and finally release. He would get called an obese f*got at school. Older boys would scowl at him whenever he walked by. So he shut down. He wouldn't talk to me and run straight to his computer and distract himself. He'd stay up all night playing video games to escape the thought that he would live through all of it tomorrow. But worst of all I wanted to help him and I couldn't. Nothing is worse than living every day knowing you could've been different had things gone another way. How you could've summed up to something but you didn't. I know you want to blame it on yourself but when you do that you give in to doubt and you throw away your identity. When we watched this show together I watched it with someone different. Someone more alive and joyful. Gon gave my brother reason to hope. Killua gave my brother reason to make friends. When you throw away who you are you let the bullies win. Don't think you're not enough. Don't think because you don't fill the quota that you shouldn't be trying at all. YOU STILL HAVE WORTH. YOU CAN STILL PUSH FORWARD. You can smile again.

For those who said this was easy to find, here's the backstory. Before this video was released, there was no version of this available to the public aside from when it was played within the anime. And in that version, characters were talking over the music. They never actually released this to the public so people searching on youtube two years ago and beyond could actually never find it.It wasn't there. Trust Me. I and others looked for ages. We knew it was a different version of Departure but there was never upload until later on.

One of the few pieces of music that still gives me chills each and every time I hear it. Just finished the show again while in quarantine, honestly HxH is a visual and auditory masterpiece.

hxh is so special.. it’s simple, but it’s deep. idk how to say it. and it’s so heartwarming. comforting. i’m so happy that i found this anime.

this makes me remember the times I'd hang out with my friends in our usual spot. They were happy memories but it makes me sad for some reason. Im about to go to college now and I'm not really scared about what happens in the future I'm more scared of not being able to go back to the things that happened in the past. I wish I could play with them and talk about random shit with them on that spot one more time before I have to grow up.

I want to see the squad all together again. We never got to see all 4 of the members of the squad fighting and doing stuff together other than in the hunter exams, and I just want an arc where they are all doing stuff. But for that to happen, Leorio would need to either finish Med School or stop prioritising it and learn more nen, Kurapika would have to get all the eyes or stop prioritising it, And Gon would need to get his nen back. Most importantly though, Togashi would need to get out out of Hiatus x Hiatus or get other people like his wife to draw for him instead. What sucks is that I think the manga is heading in the direction of the squad. Leorio might start prioritising being with his friends while he still can, especially after almost losing Gon, Kurapika is pretty close to getting all the eyes, Killua is kinda just chilling, he has no barrier to be able to be with his friends, and Gon is probably going to get his nen back if the statement that he will see Gyro is true. The only thing stopping it is Hiatus x Hiatus.

Im not one to usually comment on videos past a week old but this one was too special to pass up. I wish I could thank you, I wish I could thank hunterxhunter as whole. Hunterxhunter pushed me through my most horrible times in my entire life, and it was hard for me to distract my mind from the thoughts it came with. But when I found hunterxhunter it all changed. I finally had found a distraction I could enjoy and it helped me. I finally could smile again I could enjoy myself again. And by the time I reached the end of the show I couldn’t stop crying, just like i am right now. Replaying this video over and over. I honestly never thought i would get so emotionally attached to a show that it made me cry, but this show was different it was special in a different way. Im glad I could live this long in my life to enjoy a show so amazing.
