The ohm reading, is a measurement of resistance through the circuit, which effects the current carrying capability of the circuit. An ECU made for high impedance won't be able to handle the load if a low impedance injector. Too much current (heat) flowing through the circuit. Too much resistance will effect the final power load going to the injector (power=Volts x Amps). The same concept used for a car audio amplifier. An amp may only be 4 ohm stable. If you run it at 1 ohm, you essentially have 4x more current flowing through the circuit which can hurt the amp. However, if you run it at 16ohms, you're getting 4x less power through the circuit. If the amp is rated for 1000 watts at 4ohms and it's running subwoofers rated for 1000 watts total, it's a good match. If you run that same 1000 watt subs wired at 16ohms, you may only get 200 watts out of the amp and the subs will not perform to their potential. If you see wide fluctuations in ohm reading between injectors, this could effect flow rate as the circuits are passing different amounts of power. Similar concept to why theres injector voltage offsets. If The total power(volts x amps) is lower, because resistance is higher, it will take slightly longer to pulse the required amount of fuel. The tune may be telling the injector to pulse a certain width at 13v, but it assumes the current through the coils are close. If one injector is seeing 16ohms, instead of 12, it could have a lazy pulse, or not have enough to open under higher pressure. This may also explain variation between flow rates from low to high rpm. Would be interesting to test.

My brother and I are ebay turbo'ing a car as well. It's a 2001 Kia Spectra 1.8L (basically a clone of a mazda BP engine with slight modifications). The engine was completely rebuilt with all oem spec parts basically, because nobody sells performance parts for this engine. The head was ported and massaged though, and the rings were gapped for boost. Dynoed it NA and it made 130 HP and 120 TQ to the wheels at 5000 feet elevation on a hot day where we live. First turbo we bought was just too big and wouldn't spool enough to even make 10 PSI by 6500 RPM. Now with the smaller ebay turbo its MUCH better. We replaced the factory injectors with 500cc injectors, upgraded the fuel pump, and replaced the factory ECU with a Speeduino ECU. Got it running great on 12 PSI so far, with plans to turn it up to around 18-20 PSI once we get it back on the dyno.

About the resistor box: I had DSM 450s for a while and I'm pretty sure I definitely burned up a capacitor in my p28, but not fully. So when I switched to high impedance, it worked for a while but the p28 finally took a shit. Also, I don't think any 96 and up had a resistor box from factory, but don't quote me. I always heard you can get them from CRXs tho. So I think low impedance was a pre obd2 thing...

This brings me back to the DRAG turbo kit days. Even though Ebay it is kind of cool to see people can just buy a kit and install on their own with no wait times. Good info on the flaws of the kits as it is what I've seen even in the past with the DRAG kits which a lot of these ebay kits copied. One thing would be good to see is if the intercooler pipes have a lip on them to prevent them from blowing off. Also before we used to use the boost dependant fuel regulators with a MAP sensor bypass and for higher boost/power we would use bigger injectors like a 310CC and up and a AFC. Now there is Hondata. Would you share your thoughts on the two in a vid?

You could just flip around or/and turn the test pipe so you get that bung in a normal position for the o2 sensor

I had those style injector clip adapters. Instead of them clipping together it pushed the wires out the clip. Caused 1 cylinder to run lean, it threw a rod cause it detonated so bad it seized the piston in the bore. I will never used those adapters again.

So higher resistance equals less current. Which is less amperage being applied to the injector. In affect equals less power to each injector.

Obd 1 Integra gsr stock turbod b18c1 I've got as far as trying to set up hondata. I just can't get the injectors set right. Injectors are FIC (fuel injector connection) 750's. If the headlights are on or any other power draw, the afr goes to shit and makes it undriveable. It's been sitting for 3 years cause of this. There are no tuners in my area that aren't 3.5 hrs away. I've put 13.5k into the car over the years and just feel defeated. In Canada, btw

Hey hunter. Do you know a remote tuner that would help me get a base map to break in a fully built h22 turbocharged on e85. It has 2200cc injectors,golden eagle intake manifold and skunk throttle body. It’s having issues surging at idle and cruising around neighborhood in 1st gear. I just fired it up 1st time today and don’t know a thing about how to use the hondata and the tables and changing things on it lol any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated

I use the same boost controller and I use a plastic T like u say and it not was working so I connect the eBay T and it have a ball with spring inside and it did work good so don't recommend the plastic T with eBay controller

Not a fan of the cheap ebay stuff (except for certain parts that are bulletproof/probably made in the same factory in china anyway like the intercooler piping etc.). Spent too much $$ building my engine to ruin it with some cheap ebay boost controller. To each their own though. Which Packer game did you go to? If it was the Vikings game we just had, I'm jealous. Also check out my latest video on my channel, just got the Darton sleeved engine running and took it for a short drive before I take it out to tune it next Spring.
