** Why Do We Hunt Hogs? **
Feral hogs are a non-native and invasive species in Texas. Each year hogs cause millions of dollars in damage in the form of damaged crops, contaminated water supplies, broken equipment, transmission of diseases and injury to livestock.
Feral hogs compete with native wildlife for resources and also prey directly on the eggs and young of ground nesting birds and will actively hunt small mammals, frogs, lizards and snakes.
Due to their intelligence, adaptability, and prolific breeding habits, traditional methods of hunting and trapping have been largely ineffective in reducing the feral hog population. The introduction of night vision and thermal optics has greatly increased landowners' ability to mitigate the destruction caused by feral hogs.
Feral swine are not considered game animals in Texas and may be hunted by any means or methods at any time of year.

My father told me about a full sized female boar that took 5 shots from a STG77 from the front and marched on. They jumped aside and another took a few shots with the P80(Glock 17) and that gave it the rest Turns out, the Steyr Aug had such high muzzle velocity that at this range most shots went right through without a lot of energy transfer During his military time they were allowed to shoot boar for food, since rations were not delivered consistently where he was stationed

Two words; Fluid Dynamics. Its all about blood pressure, if you lose enough standing up, you faint. When you're on the ground, your blood repressurizes and you wake up. Then when you stand up you lose pressure again and faint and the process starts over again until you lose enough blood to bleed out and die.

Thank heavens you boys are out there saving the land! I swear, some of those herd scenes were like a bad acid trip - the whole ground was moving! And yet no matter how many of 'em you bag, there's always plenty of seed stock left over! I was plenty concerned though when a few of them charged your position! do headshots take them down immediately all the time? if so then with the exception of moving targets and unfavorable conditions like wind and fog why not aim there ive seen multiple hunting videos where they aim at specific parts for specific reasons like energy transfer and vitals but hogs are tanky bastards i guess im asking wheres the best place to put a shot and why
