Rode from St.Charles to Wheaton and back yesterday. None in the Fox River valley but as soon as I crossed Rt.59 east the Cicadas got louder to the point that I could hear them with music playing in my AirPods. Thick enough that they were landing in my lap as I rode along and had to flick them off of me. Very happy to not have them wear I live!!! Haha I used to use the brake squeal to let people know I was behind them on bike trails.

My legs are still healing, swollen, but looking less red and purple. I may be back in the saddle in a week, or two. Healing is taking a lot longer than I had hoped. I guess that comes with age. I did manage to plant two peach trees in my small orchard this week. It only took three days, and my swear words were limited to english, spanish, and german. It is an improvement. A lazy man's way of repairing the squeeky brakes would be to give the disk, and brake pads a quick spray with brake cleaner.

Hey Russ, I was riding in busse last week and there are massive amounts of cicadas there! They are so loud, I’ve never heard anything like it before! Also, I’ve seen them flying all over 294!! I’ve been watching you for a couple of years now ever since my husband and I bought e-bikes ! Keep up the great videos! Thank you 😊

I believe that the lawn treatments have an affect on the cicadas! When I was younger after a rainfall you go out and catch night crawlers, now you can hardly find any!

Hi Russ. We had a huge outbreak of Cicadas a couple years ago here in south central Pennsylvania. I have not heard any right now. I did hear them on your video. I think they like certain trees a bit more than others. They like oak, maple, willow and hickory which we have a lot of in our yard. When they are all done you can see the flagging on trees where there are brown dead leaves. Oh, I always stop at lemonade stands when I see them. My granddaughter and her friends just had one. They did well. They are in Florida!

The cicadas stay underground feeding on tree roots until it’s time to come out, so if they cleared away all the older trees when they built the houses, even if the cicadas weren’t dug up, they’ve starved in the meantime. My neighborhood was built in the 1960s, but they left park lands undisturbed along creeks since the land was subject to flooding and not suitable for development, so those cicadas weren’t disturbed and have had a few generations to spread back out to house lots in the neighborhood. We had lots and lots of them when our brood came out a few years ago.

Down state in Springfield, the cicadas are found in neighborhoods with the oldest tress.

I was riding last week in the south and one flew right into my helmet and lodged itself in one of the holes for ventilation, it kept buzzing and flapping its wings on my head as I shook my head while still going 15mph to get it free till it finally flew out lol.

In Fishing Spoons Wobble immitating a wounded smaller fish, UK freshwater fisherman here lol, here used for pike, spinners can be used also, for perch or if extremely lucky Zander, which is basicly a Pike/Perch Cross breed

It's often difficult to guess what bait a fish will strike. I've had a lot of different fish, like sockey, coho and 25-40 lb Columbia River Chinook,will take just a bare stainless hook.

Russ do you have any bikes that run the SW900 Display? it Shows the current wattage as you go. it's got the other features too although i find the Speedometer can still reg 2-5 mph just after you stop like it is lagging, just thought i would mention and your thoughts if you have tested the SW900 LCD screen, UK based here btw. thanks in advance.

My very first Rad Power Bikes Rad Rover 5 and Rad Mini had that display. Other displays lag a bit as well, not just this one.
