@@BobbyGuyFilms Last year, living on a farm in Michigan, I spent a lot of time outside in the mornings and evenings and when the local geese started flying again in mid July when they finished their molt, even though there were lots of geese around and they would roost together on the lake, they would fly in distinct flocks, 4, 7, 10, 11, and 23 ect and they leave the roost within a few minutes of each other, but stay separate. Putting out 10 dozen decoys had about the same effect on the geese you had, they would come a little closer but same well away. However, about 2 dozen set in groups of 4- 6, with about 10 yards between them worked. After shooting started and the flocks got broken up, singles or 2s would drop into the decoys without calling. After opening day of the 2019 early honker season, I did not see a single goose flying during daylight for 7 days. I would go outside to smoke (don't smoke in the house!) and take the 22 and a flashlight around the yard and garden to see if any raccoons were after the sweet corn at night, often I would hear geese flying to the fields to feed around 10 pm and flying back to the lake around 5am, they had the light of the moon on their side. Late season, with migrating birds, the big spreads are killer.

Try tuning your canada call to the same pitch as your snow call. I hear lots of calls in the field and yeah they sound like canadas but the sound of the honk isn't what the birds are looking for when they are listening. Its a distinct greeting, landing chatter, and lay down call. And when your calls are set up to sound like dark honks your other calls the call makes are to dark. Landing chatter should be high pitched and so should your murmurs. It always erks me when hunting with multiple hunters afield when they miss the transition to landing chatter and murmurs geese very seldom flock in when you dont sound like a flock excited to see them and direct them. As most hunters who have flocked a few on the pass by would know how to land them if they are still passing by in the morning its because your call is too low pitched. In the afternoon something else is going on. The birds don't immediately go to roost in the evening and they might be going to your decoys however they do it at there convenience so it might be after sunset when they return and hunting is out. So you have a better chance with morning hunts. Also I noticed you had water in the equation geese will choose water over fields about 2 to one. So having a mixed water land or straight water spread if you are competing with water might be a worthwhile expense. I have seed fields hear and have flocked in water and on fields and would say its about 2 to 1 that they will choose water if available. As we hunt a area that the field is 100 yards from the water. But all in all most people that don't blow intermediate length calls often have there tune slightly too low so I thought I'd comment.

@@mattbugg4568 So true, last year, my brother was visiting and a flock of geese flew by and I said "those are lessers coming down from Canada" and he was "Like, how can you tell"? and I said "listen to the higher pitch of their calls" The local giant Canadas have a much lower pitch than the lessers coming down from Canada, I use a snow goose call on the migrating geese coming down from the "James Bay Goose" population. The bigger the goose, the lower the pitch of the call.
