He was Scotland's first ambitious drug baron who went from being a diver in the oil industry to a major league importer.
Ambitious and ruthless, Julian Chisholm rose the ranks at an incredible speed as he plotted to use Scotland's sleepy fishing villages and islands as his landing points for drugs bartered directly from the Cali cartel. But was his greed his undoing?
Nicola is joined by reporter Brendan Duggan who turned the amazing story of Chilsom into a podcast called ‘Hunting Mr X’ he tells me of the drama on the high seas that turned Chilsom into Scotland's most wanted.

My gran and her family were friends with Chisholms family. His parents owned the St Vedas hotel in Coldingham bay. A lovely family. Julian obviously took the wrong turn in life. Great podcast.

Two brothers George Curry and his younger brother sold heroin in the jetfoil pub in Sheriff street, there supply came from Liverpool and I remember the crowds waiting for him . I’m 60now and this was 80. George done his own buying and selling total control for him. The Jetfoil was a well known smack shop and Garda where happy once we were all in the one place, dealing was done in front of Gardai back then. Dinner Mullins was the drug squad and they hadn’t a clue what was about to hit. George’s brother died from an O.D and George got strung out and disappeared from Dublin history, but I often remember ladies from Liverpool where often present with gold hanging from them, looking back they were mules. The Jetfoil could tell some stories there’s not many left from that heroin summer of 79 and 80. I was lucky I got clean and life has been kind after much death loss and violence. And the cops just watched, anyone remember them days.

Good man , I watched good friends fall thru the ghia , back then I don’t think anyone knew what the consequences of heroin were , something inside me said no , and I watched my friends one by one die , I still wonder why I never smoked it , or was influenced into it , I wasn’t a lover of salad on the foil I could always smell salad ! I choose to carry on just smoking blow , hash , resin , I take my hat off to any man woman who can control the grips of ghia after what I saw , ✌️

Me and my mate Ewan stole his weed . He knew we smoked so one night in his dad's pub ( The Stormont Lodge in Blairgowrie ) he approached us and confided to us he was growing weed in his dad's greenhouse. Me and my mate sneaked out to said greenhouse and ripped off 3 plants. They were pretty small. My mate cultivated them and we actually sold some of it back to "Mr X" who was totally oblivious to what we'd done. His old man was a total snob and he was a daft laddie no one took seriously. I was 18 at the time, I think Julian was about 16 or 17 . I felt a bit guilty at the time for duping him to be honest.

Brass monkey lol wtf never heard that before think you've watched to many guy Ritchie films mate a brass is a well known term to describe a prostitute ie brass flute. Brass monkeys on the other hand is not rhyming slang but a contraction of the phrase “it’s cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey”, which means “it’s really fucking cold out there” either way never heard the term used to describe the poor souls who are enslaved to drug addiction

8,700 people who have watched the video seem to think it was important. A cynic might speculate that someone has a family link to what happened and is a tad embarrassed.
