Idea: Try to disable a ship and wait for the crew to abandon ship and wait 10 seconds before firing the killing blow. If they surrender. Spare them.

That would be a KM-specific (escape pod evacuation is not in RE). Although... with Quick Battle Plus, it *is* possible to disable/force a surrender if you disable sensors/all weapons...
