Hurricane Ian slams the Florida coast, and Reed records the worst of it from Pine Island. Join Reed inside the eyewall of Hurricane Ian and watch the unbelievable storm surge progression before your very eyes. This is a LIVE weather report with more footage coming soon.
The eyewall is the most dangerous part of a hurricane, where the most severe weather and highest winds occur. The eye of the hurricane is the weakest part of it, while the eyewall, is the most dangerous and destructive part of it.
Stay safe!

@Big Griff - Well, if you just discovered Reed, you're in for a treat. Some of the most outstanding, outrageous, spectacular extreme weather footage known to the human species awaits you, captured by Dr. Reed Timmer. Yeah, he's a wildman, but that's what it takes to record the phenomena he intercepts. But it's more than that; he's in it for the science. He knows what he's doing, and you'll learn a lot from his videos.

I lost both my cars and most of my house to the 3foot water that came through my house. Mercifully my dogs and cats weren't hurt. But I never thought the wind would never stop. I pray we never get another one like this. I was in Placida in my home during the worst of the storm & I agree it seems like it would never let up. I don’t know if I could stay for another one like this & i’ve been down here for 26 years and lived through many storms & I was never frightened until this one. I’ve never been paranoid before but I think we’re all getting a little paranoid when we’ve lived through a storm like this. 🙏

Florida has been getting hit by hurricanes for centuries. I do not feel sorry for anyone that lives there... it was their choice knowing full well that their property would get destroyed by one. You perfectly nailed it. Recorded the whole powerful cat 5 Ian. Nice job! That storm made a real high storm surge and most people were taking shelter. I hope you recovered from that high damaging storm.

My 90 yo dad and my sister are in Sarasota. I don't know why they didn't evacuate. My dad is still sharp minded though, and isn't incapacitated physically in any way. So I guess there's that. Being a retired commander in navy I suppose he's been in nasty weather on the oceans! I'm in Idaho so nothing i could've done!

Be safe with that savage storm surge! We're looking forward to your continued content! We hope Dominator 3 is still ok, and not submerged!

I’m in Cape Coral, Lee county. This storm… was unreal. I can’t put it into words. As someone who’s gone through so many hurricanes this.. wasn’t even in the same category. Like it didn’t even seem like a hurricane, it felt like the end of the world. Ten days later.. and it still feels like the end of the world.

I hear you. I’m in downtown Ft Myers on the Caloosahatchee. This hurricane went for 10 hours. It felt like it was never going to end. And all the devastation and destruction everywhere is heartbreaking.

God bless you my brother and be safe out there! 😎

@@skygge1006 agreed! We live in Cape Coral just about 8 miles from here. They eye of the storm went directly over us. It was horrible. We didn’t evacuate as the storm wasn’t supposed to hit us. By the time they realized it was coming for us it was too late. And besides, all the gas stations were out of gas anyways so there was nowhere to go. We were all hiding in a small bathroom on our house with motorcycle helmets and football Helmets on at one point. At one point we thought our roof was going to blow off. We had hurricane winds at our house for over 18 hours. Gust to 140mph. It was pure hell. Lesson learned. If it even looks remotely close to hitting us in the future we’re out of there. You can’t even get to pine island where this video was filmed anymore. The storm blew the road out at the bridge. I have lived here my whole life and can tell you this is absolutely devastating!
