I live on Guam. I know how much devastating hurricane we call it typhoons can be we had paka. It lifted small car's and cracked concrete, destroyed a gas station. Peeled metals of the roofs. Left us with no power, water, food. After 3 days the freezer, fridge started to defrost. We was on our own. And no gas because the reserve gas was burning up. We had to wait 15 days before the federal help came. And then we waited 16, 24 hours getting in line. Waiting for the public service to give out food stamps, cash 💸 help. Even with cash,food stamps there was no food to buy. No gas for the car's. Thank God we had chicken and other animals. To cook and feed the family. The hospital's had back up generator but with out gas ⛽ well??they were overwhelmed with injured people coming in.they had to wait almost 6,hours to see a doctor. Without gas the government pulled in the school busses to take people from the mayor's offices to where you want to go. And they really Tried everything they can help. Some of us was just mad at the people in public office workers. And started to yell at them. I pay taxes 😒. And they where mad at us saying yes just like me. It was a catastrophe. Because none of us wanted to go home. with nothing when they started to close the doors. They had to call the police. They started to talk to the people. Just come tomorrow. They are going to give out numbers. You don't need to wait. You can come to the front line. So at least we can have the help we needed desperately.

@@trendingsocialthings6799 if you are serious about coming to Guam 🇬🇺. Let me know. It is a beautiful island 🏝. Belongs to USA. And Guam is where America's day begins. Ever since covid 19 we lost a lot of Japanese tourists. It was a chunk of our incomes. Japanese people love Guam. I hope they can come back as much as before. Now with the monkey pox virus??we are all hoping the Governor is not going to shut it down again.

I'm Brazilian and I still don't understand why the US houses are made of wood, here they are all brick and concrete, they would be intact even with a tornado.
@brightsky7826
@brightsky7826 Жыл бұрын
Wood and press wood is cheaper than brick and stone. But, why build homes so close to the ocean when they can be swept away. Nothing man made can over power the ocean. We should be thankful that this type of weather is seasonal and not every month.
@mevittor
@mevittor Жыл бұрын
@@brightsky7826 So it must be really expensive, because with all the history of disasters that the country has and they still use wood. because Brazil is a country with a poor majority and all the houses are made of bricks.
@NotLikeUs17
@NotLikeUs17 Жыл бұрын
Some homes have their parts pre-made in a factory. It’s faster to build homes with wood too. Brick would not only be less cost effective to transport but more difficult to install as well. Also depending on where you live, brick homes may not be viable solution. On the west coast for example; a brick foundation would be more likely to crack during an earthquake and harder to repair afterward.

Send money. Prayers do nothing. Besides. If there was a higher being. This was it's will. Why would you question its way of things. Basically saying your agenda is more important than this beings agenda. Wouldn't that be insulting? Then if it did answer your prayer and not others prayers would that be playing favoritism? That's so not like a superior being. Have any of your unrealistic prayers ever been answered? So if I pray for a million dollars. Without working for it. At some point I will get a million dollars if I pray 24/7? Your brainwashed. It's time to realize your brainwashed. Wake up.

It's totally devastating for EVERYONE living there in FLORIDA & the economy will most likely be affected due to all the damage, loss of so many cars under water, home repairs & rebuilding that will have to be done & the insurance money that this will take is enormous as well, but yes there will be some jobs for those skilled workers & money will be made by suppliers & sellers of wood, shingles for roofs & home goods too etc, but still it's so sad & don't know if there were any deaths yet, but I have never seen such coverage like this of it being filmed as it's happening of roofs flying off & a refrigerator floating in the water, etc-that I recall anyway! Must be absolutely terrifying & stressful for all the people & having to leave home to safety! I have been & am praying for all that have to deal with this hurricane, floods, etc from Ian! Winds of 155, not much survives in this kind of weather! God be with you! I was born in Florida but only lived there as a baby & then my parents moved but visited every year in July as a child & was just there in 2018 in the middle of September-and I have lots of relatives that still live there, hope & pray they are safe too! Mother nature is loving, comforting, nurturing. Destructive, shockingly devastating 😢 💔 😞, super power, strength of devastating. We humans are powerless to stop it, control it. When paka came. We had I think 🤔 3 casualties?? 1 old woman was looking out the window. And at that moment the window exploded.and 1 piece of it entered the heart. No help because it was to strong for the ambulance. Or any vehicle can't come they had to wait 6 hours. To make a call power lines was all over the roads. Tree's all over the island. My friend was stuck inside her house. Because paka peeled her roof. She was hiding in the closet. The coconuts was soooo dangerous. They started to break the windows. 1 of my husband relatives found her house empty because paka opened her back door and front door. Everything was washed away. 😪 not 1 furniture. And the most horrible and shocking thing was. She opened the Graves dig and took the coffin ⚰ they are washed-out to the sea. But some of them got stuck by the Tree's debry. The families had to identify the dead.

I feel for all who are experiencing this nightmare. The one thing I can't help but thinking is .. this extreme weather is going to keep happening in the coming years, should you stay there and endure or find another area to live in? 🇺🇸💨

I wish more journalists would use the word “decimated” correctly. To decimate is to reduce something by one tenth. To destroy something is to annihilate it. Ian annihilated those areas.

this is what happens when you call everything that comes from nature a catastrophic issue, or constantly saying how many millions of people are under various weather "watches" just so your tag line can include a number in the millions. they aren't leaving themselves many words to use as they misuse to death the latest one they hope will scare you into clicking. Also while I don't excuse anyone who didn't evac because it was just global warming hype don't get much sympathy from me, there are bound to be some, probably older and we know how many seniors are there, who maybe just have catastrophe fatigue which over time just makes you start ignoring the dangers.

When you watch something like this. It makes you think 🤔?? How small insignificant we are against mother nature. And how helpless we are. She is nurturing, loving, protecting. And how devastating, destroying, rebuilding, reshaping, brutal, merciless, the biggest power in the world 🌎. She will shake us of like a dog with fleas. Don't mean nothing to her.

None. Their profits will be down this quarter but they'll be fine. The only time they 'go bankrupt' is when they shuffle the money around so they don't have to pay out.

Hi there everyone! Thx for taking risks to inform us about this devastatung hurricane! Thoughts and Prayers to the Victims and big thanks to the rescuers. II. Always hard to remain powerless in the face of Natural Disasters-Wather-related and Weather-related Disasters. III. Another evidence of the Vulnerability of our Coastal-city-based economy and civilization. IV. We'll come together as One Nation to rebuild those cities and states and learn from that.
