You didn't experience the wrath of Andrew in 1992...I lived in Cutler Ridge (now known as Cutler Bay)...165mph sustained winds with 220mph gusts....it was like living through a 4 hour tornado. It took 7 months to get my electric back. The grid was completely destroyed.

That was the most devastating and ferocious storm we've ever seen. The video is breathtaking but it doesn't even come a fraction close to what it was like to live through it. Some of the damage is still not fixed over a year later down here. This area was annihilated.

@@gkupos There's a high pressure system right by SC, and that's why its turning over there. Unless it somehow breaks, then its gonna continue that path until it eventually dies out in the cold northern waters. I'd keep an eye out on Central America though, possible depression to form and start making it's way torwards the panhandle and southern states.

I remember having to go down to Florida after the hurricane (I live in the Midwest) to help my Grandparents and Great Grandfather clean up. Luckily, their house is made of concrete blocks so the house had basically no damage, but my Great Grandfathers grapefruit tree, wasn't so lucky... There were so many branches, ties around trees that had to be taken down, etc. They live just south of Sarasota.

i remember the house across the street having a ladder on the top of their tree. i remember we had no power, cable, or water for a couple days. i remember being outside during the hurricane, the wind strong enough to use my shirt as a sail and whisk me away. i had to keep one hand on the door. the rain was like a blanket of water, not heavy droplets, but constant showering instead. and yet i never felt in danger, it was just some rain and damage. then we saw what had happened in the keys. there were ships in driveways, houses blown apart, trees littering the road.

Most of these comments on this video prove that there is stupid people from all states in the US, not just Florida. We had so much power out. That electric companies from all around the country had to restore our power. I went through Irma, so I know. It’s not a competition.

So you think it's funny to laugh at people at catastrophic times in their life ? As far as actual building structures you might be correct but many of these homes are old enough that it was before the building materials became as strong and flexible as they are today. Not to add to it, you say this happens two times a year in Europe... sometimes this happens two, three times a month and the southeast and west side of Gulf in the United States.
