I installed mine just like you did. Then I saw a line on each one for top plate so there's no obstruction on the wall if drywall or other paneling is attached. You just have to raise them up to the line.

On the bracket it says to uses on both sides. I guess they want us to buy more of them brackets and nails.

Thanks for the information on the straps, i didn't know that or i would have added more of them i guess it's better than having my roof fly off in a big storm.

No codes where I live but for the money it's wise to use them.. Adding them to my deck roof that is getting a metal roof

What do you do when installing ceiling and it hits the metal part that sticks out?

You know I don’t like the word hurricane. Not this weekend but the following weekend we are suppose to have a hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico. We will hav to wait and see where it goes.
