Out of the whole Palace Ruyi was the most faithful, until the end it was always him choosing lies, disloyalty and power grabs made against her. Gosh not even the shows in America are this damn good. Ruyi was always faithful. Gosh he.....

Giggles Noir She never forgave him at the end, refusing to accompany him, cut out her half of their portrait and refused to take medicine for her illness. His punishment came after she died. Spent the rest of his life (lived till 80 over years) lonely and missing her. Too little too late.

I really pity those women who died because they were fighter over his favor and love but destroyed themselves in the ended and he was never pity them at all even put his hand in their Jealously figher .But the good think which l love, is in the end he was lonely because of he's careless, selfishness and wickedness .

All this is due to the emperor, who’s favour the harem women sought. The women turned devious and evil to survive and rise in the harem. All the emperor bothered was to have his choice of beautiful women every night, and left the running of the harem to his queen. Despite knowing what this evil woman had done, he didn’t punish her publicly with death, as a deterrent to the others.

Difficult to know what's fact and what's fantasy. The 'choosing wife' ceremony is flawed as Ruyi was only 9years old, then. The bracelet is also not real because the empress had a daughter and son by the time Ruyi was 12, so there was no competition for producing an heir. Maybe Huixian was the only one given a bracelet. Who knows? The empero

Yup. One of the previous episodes the Royal Mother was upset how Gui Fei’s father kept thwarting her power at court, and he was also the one who insisted Royal Mother marry her daughter to Mongolia. It was only briefly mentioned in that episode so the Royal Mother started targeting Gui Fei to make her father pay.

One thing I do love about this show is that it is a historical drama. Sadly, I try not to read too much on Wikipedia, since most of the information can be wrong or never fix at time. But the thing is, we don’t know if he truly did cared about Ruyi in the end. Since he never wrote any hidden documents. Which, would be neat if all the important ones that is represented within the show that is base on the actual person, did have written some personal details before they die and have it secretly hidden before hand by their faithful servants. Sadly, I bet there is a misinformation or unknown detail that is never brought up or destroyed.

Wikipedia is actually much more accurate than people think. And it has only improved. Aside from that, the reason we don't know what really happened here is that all royal documents and portraits pertaining to Ruyi were deliberately destroyed by Qianlong. We have other people's historical accounts, like knowing that Ling was posthumously titled empress, or that Mei gave birth to a deformed child. Of course, dirty laundry like the poisonings and such wouldn't be written anywhere, unless there was an official and public punishment, to preserve the image of the royal family. But as for Ruyi, the only thing we know for certain is that she was basically erased from history. Nothing else, not even the reason. Qianlong is widely considered one of the best emperors in history and certainly the best of his dynasty. But how he was as a person... Who knows? It's likely he was like this. Great monarchs rarely are good people.

@@meihuangha the Wikipedia team is very fast to correct incorrect or false information these days and they always require citations etc. It's not the Wild Wild West of "anyone can do whatever they want" that it was at first. Anyone can contribute, but mostly it's people who do so often on their specific topic, and the editor team is rather good at removing misinformation as quickly as they can, in my experience

Not the Emperor, it was the Empress Dowager who ordered the Physician. This is because Gao Bing, who is Noble Consort Hui's father, suggested the Emperor to marry off one of the Empress Dowager's two Princesses to a Mongolian lord far away, causing them her to be separated from her daughter. She did this to avenge Gao Bing and wanted him to know what it's like to be seperated from one's child.

She even said in a previous episode that she didn't like the person shes become, wanting to harm someone right after hearing they're pregnant.

emperor is a monster. to knowlingly harm hui health to make sure she will not bear him a child is beyond cruel. If he did not like her he could send her off or divorce her - what is not possible for a ruler? instead, he allow her to wear poisonous bracelet. I do not make exuses for a villain but he is a wrongdoer too.

He did so did Ruyi. Her maid made sure the empress' son caught it to. The son died from it. The maid died from it too after she got revenge for her mistress.
