Nobody is seeing it, but Bob is wasted and having a hell of a time keeping up. Credit to all of Hüsker for keeping the ship afloat during this set

Norton does not get the credit as the irreplaceable killer bass player who put up with whatever went down....2 years on a major, im afraid the Huskers had run their course. Grant made the best solo album...and Nova Mob was cool. Bob found another band with Sugar, but i still think Intolerance is the best post Husker timeless release. Grant came and did a lengthy in-store, showed up 2 hours early and we talked until people started creeping in 2 hours later. Talked about everything but Husker Du. He was impressed i knew his solo stuff, saw Nova Mob and fed his broke ass a buffalo beef on weck. a strange dude who says things just to see how you react. Probably 60/40 truth/bullshit. but what an honor to hang out...the key is to not let a hero know youre a fanboy. Jonathan Richman is not known for being "chatty" with fans, but he hung out and talked for 20-30 minutes. Very relaxed. Thanks for this, uploader. I think everyone should see my favorite vid on KZfaq...its two years earlier, unbelievably intense...and better sight lines....just half these songs hadnt been written yet. i cant even listen to the single anymore. Zen tour. Eight Miles HIGH kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eq5yeJqgxL27o30.html

ensembles presenting a uniquely lasting , cerebral writing style *-* boasting a single musician on the six string *&* lead vocals( H.D and earlier Nirvana ) will always be something more than special (IF that guitar stops at the unplanned wrong moment or there is a rare 'mistake' it will never seem more obvious) Add to the band list ever freely ~ same parameters

I was born around the time they broke up (so never got to experience their shows for myself), but I've been collecting live recordings for more than half of my life at this point - a few hundred different bands and thousands of tapes - and out of all of them, the Hüskers' shows from mid-1984 to mid-1985 still blow me away the most. There's three sets in particular that are all in my personal top-5 of the heaviest, most intense, most emotionally evocative music recordings I've ever heard: Washington DC (Newton Theatre) in June '84, Newport KY (Jockey Club) in October '84, and Trenton NJ (City Gardens) in May '85. The latter is up on KZfaq, and is an absolute **motherfucker** of a recording - listen to that one and you'll find yourself wondering how the building didn't burn down around them as they played, it's so goddamn intense.

Hard to believe in just about two years from this recording, they would break up. It actually looks like they are having fun. Love that Bob doesn’t wait for Greg to barely finish stringing his bass before jumping into Terms of... at 36:30. The playfulness of the lead into Pink Turns to Blue is too funny; Greg’s face at the tempo, too, is pretty awesome. Loved hearing Find Me; never knew they played it live.

Bob was ham-bammered for this show. It's a testament to how good the band was to be able to perform in such a state. The version of Chartered Trips is literal fire.

find a band thats in their prime NOW. screw the top 40...they coulda more albums, they werent one of sliver of great bands who dont become stupid rockstars because its like being 5'8 and dreaming to make the NBA. looks, songs, none of it matters. shit luck and bad timing. they mighta fit in with the grunge bullshit, but the records sounded cleaner, they evolvd with every release. 5 years too soon? fuck the record biz. listen to some Hank Wood and the Hammerheads, Reigning Sound...Tyvek.Marked Men or radioactivity. Hot Snakes are back. i was 15. they only came anywhere near me in 83.
