Phil used to watch over Amelia when she slept but as he got older he couldn't get up the stairs anymore. We used to help him up and he would happily lay with her all night. Now that he's gone Niko tends to want to go upstairs more, it's like he's passed the responsibilty on. Phil's ashes stay in Amelia's room with her as she asked if they could go there. She wakes up every night around the same time and comes into our room where Kodi then joins her, they all have their own little routine it's so cute.

Pups and kitties are crazy smart. Niko took up Phil's post, knowing Mia would continue to need that comfort. Kodi clever kitty, knows Mia still needs comforting at night.
