I these two playing together it reminds me of my cat when he was a kitten slapping at our pit bull and as soon as my kitten slapped at her the pit bull started to act like a excited little puppy and years later they are still best friends.

They are both being playful. Usually big dogs lower themselves to make the cats feel more comfrotable and the cat here is just seeing how the dog is reacting to his touches which over time builds enough trust so that the cat can finally suddenly jump on its head and bite him.

They remind me of when I had my German Shepherd, first I had a Siamese cat, they would play fight, with the Siamese launching itself to bite at the dogs neck, and the dog gently knocking the cat down with its paw. The dog would open its jaw and hold it with its mouth lol then I had a Manx cat, which was as smart as the Shepherd. They never play fought, but would play together, get into things together. They were inseparable, even sharing each others food lol two intelligent animals together. And the Shepherd knew she could kill and eat them, but, she protected those cats like family, was very proud of her
