Marriage is very serious. When you go into it you need to know what's involved. 1 Corinthians 7:10 And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: 7:11 But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.

You have to be happy with God's love more than feeling like you need a woman's love cause you dont feel complete without one. Once God knows your heart put Him first then I see a woman in the future that would be the right one that comes along. I personally have struggled with this but this video backs up the recent studies after I gave up "looking for that one" and focused on God fully and thankful of His perfect love trumps any human love that is of this world.

the last 2 minutes really summed it all up, depending upon who you marry can almost destroy your relationship (aka "walk") with the Lord

Thanks Bryan for this sermon; I highly recommend it to all the young Christians and old alike. I wish I knew these things 2-3 years ago when I was a young fool playing with fire, but now the LORD has chastened me, and I will to be unmarried like Paul himself was (1 Corinthians 7:8). May the LORD continue to bless your beautiful marriage and your ministry.

Chris Huff preached an excellent sermon on this subject. One thing he said that stuck in my mind is that when you "date" around you get emotionally attached. Even if there is no physical relationship. If you stop "dating" that person, especially, the *FIRST* person you date you will get *hurt* emotionally and now you harden yourself to "the hurt" which is *always* worse the *first* time. Then you "date" the next person and when that stops you can get hurt again and the cycle begins again and you insulate yourself from the emotional *HURT* again. Then if the person does finally get married and trouble in the marriage arises and the discussion of divorce enters the relationship the *built in* *HURT* that God designed to be there and to *hinder you from proceeding* in this direction is now no longer there or it have been calloused to the idea since "the hurt" which could normally hinder that direction has been lost. Dating conditions you into a cycle of getting emotionally attached to a member of the opposite sex and then severing that relationship and losing the emotional attachment.

I really do not know if this particular sermon is online in any form or not. This was preached in a church building back about 1995 in which I was in attendance However, Chris Huff, the pastor, is online I know he has a facebook page (I do not) and some of his sermons are online here > www.goodpreachin.com/HUFF/huff.htm One thing I would like to say, I always got something from his sermons. Kind of Like Bryan here, you can always glean something good in there.

8 years later and I think I found the answer to my prayers. Very helpful comment. It's pretty true about the dating and pain- after my first girlfriend dumped me, I had an immense grief and I hated women until I graduated high school. Ironically, her name was Chasity, maybe the Lord was giving me a lesson through her, I don't know. Anyways, I've been tempted to go and ask out another girl, but your comment brought me some revelation.

Very good teaching Bryan. Question, as far as I know back in biblical days many of the marriages were prearranged. Then fast forward to the say, the 1700's or 1800's, I believe some people found spouses through "mail order brides", if you will (which I'm not too sure how that usually worked out). So, having said all that, in our modern society, what is your opinion about looking for a potential spouse online? The main reason for my question is that, as a purist, adhering to the KJ Bible only and steering clear of the babel buildings, obviously your chances of finding an individual who is like minded decreases. And off course as a given, seeking first the kingdom of God. Thanks a bunch! And keep up the good work. I share your you tube channel with people every chance I get.

John17:17 I met my wife online through ministry correspondence. Then we talked on Skype for a few weeks, then on the phone, and then I traveled out to meet her and her parents. After that, we were married in my home state.So YES I think it is alright to look for someone online. I do have to warn about the "Christian" dating websites. In my experience, many of them are filled with lost people looking to con Christians. I knew of a single guy who met a "Christian" girl. They got married and she racked about tens of thousands of dollars in credit card debt before she left him. He ended up in prison, and later found out that he was the third guy that this woman had done this to!BE CAREFUL and above all PRAY!!!

husky394xp Thank you for your response, as I want to make sure I follow after the Lord as I should be. What a terrible thing to have happened to that young man. And yes, I know it's EXTREMELY important to be VERY careful, and above all...to pray. I know the most important thing is to follow the Lords leading, but what do you think is a reasonable amount of time to wait to marry once you meet the right person? Do you mind if I ask how long you and Katherine knew each other before you were married? Thanks again!

Hi Bryan! Thanks for the video. But there is one thing I strongly disagree with you. The man I am going to marry was a man who had a divorce. He knew what he did was wrong and he repented for his sin. Him and I know his sin is under the blood, and ever since I've been with him, the Lord has truly been blessing us. We are really super in love with each other, we sincerely love God, and we enjoy serving God together. So just like a man/woman can forgive a woman/man for committing fornication in the past, I think that if my husband-to-be repented of his sin, and God forgave him, then I should forgive him too, and be free to love him.
@stevensauls20135 жыл бұрын
Divorce is a little more complicated than a single "sin." Marriage is a reflection of God's covenant to man, and it isn't something to be played around with. Please check the Bible for specific scripture about marrying after being divorced.

If you married a man who was divorced, you are now living in adultery according to the Bible(unless the divorce was due to fornication).

I know this is old, and I am not a fan of Brian. But I do agree, with your comment. People need to realize that the blood still covers divorce. Its not recommended but still. Well said.

husky394xp hi brother, could you please ask the 18 year old (only if he's male) if it's ok to him to contact me. I'm 20 and don't know christians at my age so it would really help me if i could ask him some questions about different stuff like temptations, the devil sending women and so on.. would be really thankful if you could do that.. greetings..

Wow I agree with you about courting not dating. But I have no parents so I plan on double dating with a married couple. Such as meeting at their house to fellowship and play a game or cookout. O by the way I am an almost sixty year old widow of a KJV only preacher who went home to be with our LORD over 5 years ago. What about fleecing as Abraham's servant did?
