Talking about the intake troubles common to Husqvarna 51, 55, 345, 357xp and 359. We look at this as part of maintenance when they come in the shop. It's a quick easy repair and will keep you saw free from air leaks in the areas that are repaired. Many a dead saw can be attributed to such leaks.
Another soap box talk on why buying a bar and chain is a precise exercise and why I think it's important to just man up and learn how to figure it out correctly instead of playing the blame game.
Also, we talk about the bottom end issues with the 550xp/562xp Husqvarna models, Husqvarna's fixes and updates and the myth that somehow the diagnostic tool will diagnose mechanical issues and a simple carb reset or reflash will magically fix any physical damage to the machine. Don't get your hopes up, it won't.

Try to fix your shit right before it blows up. Common problems I see on these. That 562 only had 40 hrs on it, 20 of them were at idle.

I appreciate you sharing your professional knowledge with us. I'm currently going through a 51 and sure enough I found the threads in that carb base plate (bulkhead as husky calls it) were stripped on one side. Instead of buying a $20 replacement part, I thought about using M5x.8 Heli-coils to repair it and replacing the self tapping screws with M5 Allen head machine screws. However since I will probably never work on one of these saws again I decided it wasn't worth the money buying the tools and hardware necessary for this type of modification.

I toss the Husky screws on the carb immediately and install Stihl bolts with lock nuts. Works well. Good video, subbed.

That'll work too, especially if you're in the field and want to make something work or don't want to sink a lot of ching into the machine. Usually I'm doing repair work for customers so my preference is setting it up as original as possible. It's not a bad setup and the screws will hold forever if not tampered with, but some people gotta learn the hard way on them. Including me, at first.

Sweet! Definitely not the same one unless you broke into the shop this weekend and took it. What all did you have to do?

Probably cheaper to grab a new chain. Shipping each way is $6+-. Fee is $8. We sell new chain for $15-20+-

I wish there were more of the closed port 55 jugs around. I've always wanted to try one.

The hyway is a good option for a guy with a lathe and lots of patience. I.e. someone else. Some folks had good results others ended up with a turd. I'm not a porter (no knowledge) and don't want to bumblefuck through making one run decent. I usually draw the line at roughing up an intake and doing a little gasket matching and polishing.

Since Husqvarna 50,51 and 55 cylinder and piston design is robbed from Partner 500/5000 series saws i wish they would also have done the intake screws same as partner. Partner has studs that go through the intake so they wont strip down the plastic. I would not use the hyway closed port jug on those saws.

The original equipment sets are so reasonably priced ($110+-) that it makes sense to go with OEM if you want to have a nice reliable machine for years to come.
