Thanks so much for these videos! Partly based on Your (and other) vids, I got my dad a 540i XP with a BLi 300 battery for christmas. He's a life long Husky man, ran the 245 for about twenty years and then switched to the 357 XPG when the 245 was discontinued. After retirement he'd been using some random chinesium Stihl copies and I really felt bad for him, thought he really should have something nice for going after firewood during his retirement.

I always get an education with every one of your videos, and find a new way to look at the use of a chainsaw. I have an ancient white oak, over 100+ years old, that fell in one of my back fields near Splendora, Texas. I don't want to just cut it up for firewood as some of the branches are 31" in diameter and the base is over 4' wide for about 10' before you hit the rotted out section. I'm trying to find someone with a slabbing mill that can handle the big stuff and plan to get an 18" Husqvarna chain saw to cut the branches into manageable 8'-6", 10'-6", or longer sections for making planks and large sized boards. You have convinced me that the Husqvarna is a better option for me than the Stihl, and the warranty helps sell the saw even more. Thanks for sharing your knowledge, and showing us that you can have a passion for your work and enjoy the art of using a chainsaw successfully.

Thank you. I do trail maintenance and while I do have a 536lixp, it has limitations. The 540ixp definitely has more power, which should lessen the time per cut and allow for more cuts per battery. It is heavier, but the amount of metal around the sprocket makes the weight difference worth it. Now it has been many years since it came out, but I did order the 540 through Husqvarna since the discounts stacked and I was able to get the kit for $800 to my door. Still a crazy amount, but watching this now, I'm happy I went with it. And the saw is made in Sweden and the battery in Poland, so that is a big plus.

i bought a 20v dewalt, mostly for limbing and clearing brush. but it has found a home in my truck for clearing trails and camping on state land. were they don't allow gas saws. late night fire wood cutting , doesen't bother other campers or neighbors. battery saws definitely have there place. nice video. thats a definite upgrade. and a fast cutter.

This is a torture test of not only the saw, but even more of the battery. Battery Technology has come a long way in the last 10-15 years. Like you said, "battery management" is the key with lithium batteries. Without the integrated battery management, these incredible new devices would not be safely possible.

I can definitely see the advantages in this saw as opposed to a gas powered saw for a climbing saw.

Crazy to think. Probably one day gas powered small engines will be a think of the past. Kids will look at them the way we look at the model T Ford.

Impressive performance. The real test is head to head with a gas 540 how much fuel to how many batteries. Of course cost to purchase and operate is still by far the gas, but definitely getting a lot closer. Battery technology has really improved dramatically in last couple of years. I bought a $50 china made (just because I needed something fast and it was so cheap) plastic 20 volt chainsaw with a 10in bar. I was actually able to fall 22 medium grade trees between 6-12in diameter all random sizes. I was quite surprised, especially when I first pulled the trigger, electrics don't spool up, they bite right now! I can't imagine how much more power that 540 has, wow.

This kills my Ryobi 40v lol...but you do have to pay for it. Thanks for the test!
