I am Hervé Collette and I giving you a review on the Husqvarna harness balance XT for your brushcutter or trimmer.
Hope you will be usefull to you in case you need to make a decision about buying one.

Thank you, nice to see reviews of used products, gives an honest quality look. I use my machine in hot dusty environment with trimmer line, so I carry in a pouch my line cutter, ear protection (big headphones sweat my ears) and a spare air filter. In a big toolbox also pliers, spare line and other tools, along with fuel mix canister and lunchbox. Greetings

Yes I know. We try to have vehicles always near by to avoid having to carry fuel with us, water, etc. But sometimes we have no choice

Excellent video Hervé. I hadn't worn mine for a couple of years and couldn't work out what the spare "Ladies' snap connector" was for! A quick view of your video jogged my memory....... how could I forget! Merci beaucoup.

Great review. Tried mine for the first time yesterday and it is brilliant. The brand new Hyundai one that came with the machine is rubbish. I am 60, and worked for 3 hours with the XT yesterday doing HEAVY brush cutting, and felt perfect after I’d finished. I could only do 30 mins with the original before needing a break. Brilliant harness

@@machinesdequalite Aye! I have two weed whackers (brush cutters) but use the smaller STIHL more often, because the heavier SHINDAIWA came with a very poor (cheap) shoulder strap. I am looking forward to use the Shindaiwa for extended periods with this harness, as it's a great machine.

Really great and in depth review! I was looking to get a Makita one, quite a bit cheaper, but the Husqvarna seems to have more adjustable details. Might have to look at the Balance XT2 instead. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the harness! ❤

The Pouch is for strimming chord. You should be able to get a couple of head changes worth in the pouch. So if your doing a long footpath you only need a small 1lt fuel can as an extra slung over your shoulder.

Is this universal or has something that only allows attachment to husqvarna trimmers?

Thank you for your comment. It is universal, but I have noticed that the harness steel attachement for the machine get worn fast when using a Sthil machine and need replacing from time to time (Sthil are hooked on metal, Husqvarna on plastic). Hopefully Husqvarna will fix this soon

All good, it seems they gave a lot of thought to the design except one thing - there is no way to move the hook padded support from right to left! I am a lefty and I would like to have the machine hooked on my left side. Bet there are more lefty using the machine out there but is not only for the lefty - let’s say you have a medical problem on your right side and want to use the machine on the left side. Having a movable hook would be much nicer than having a pouch I would say on this expensive harness.

@@machinesdequalite Me either but I don’t see a reason why not have this option of having a movable hook on this new one. I am not advocating for a lefty harness - just want the hook being movable from right to left if someone wants.

@@mihailgfaina I know, but it is like chainsaws, they are made for right handed people. Maybe one day, there will be the other one. This needs to be submitted to the brand.

The bag is for a first aid kit. I usually have marking bands in it when thinning so I don't get lost.

😳 A first aid kit, do not fit! 😅. But now thinking about it, it is to fit wires for the ones that do not use the blade.

@@machinesdequalite The kit I'm using fits perfectly. Husqvarna is a Swedish brand and I'm from Sweden. Yes, another commenter told you that before.

@@wartem If a shredding blade where to brake at 10.000rpm and hit your leg, do you really beleive that an aid kit of approx 5x4 cm would help you? I am glad you are Swedish, maybe over there you have different ways of doing things, but as long as it work out, it is perfect.

@@machinesdequalite Im just wondering, Ive had this harness for two years but I got bored of loosing that nail (sorry for bad english) it seems to be made for quick and easy drop of trimmer but its so easy to lose it... I got xtreem just to month ago and the design makes you drop trimmer faster without a vory of loosing it... and its just as comfortable to be in as this maybe even more, but that depends on user I guess

@@dragonmerchant this harness has a security feature that others don't. If for instance you have to run away because of some wild animals or a fire, just with a quick pull the entire machine is out. When this is removed you have to place it back properly if not it will come out of it's place again. I work with an entire forestal brigade and with have no problem whatsoever with these harnesses.
